Can adults take children's Delsym?

Yes, the information on the website says adults and children over 12 can take 10ml dose every 12 hrs. Do not exceed 20 ml in 24 hrs.

How long does this take to work? We are still coughing after taking it almost two hours ago. :(

Sometimes it would take a second dose if my daughters cough was really bad....at those times I went every 4 hours (she's 10 years old)
