Lovely looking cat.
This was bought for our mum who has dementia. I cannot review how she reacts to this cat yet as it ha only just arrived. I will write down my thoughts initially. We chose the orange cat it arrived very quickly on opening the box it made me chuckle as you just see the cats head, body underneath cardboard. On taking out the cat find it already had batteries in ready to go. The switch is underneath in the cats tummy. I was a little sceptical as to what this robotic cat would be like, however it really is fabulous a very pretty face anc feels lovely to stroke. The fabric is so nice. Once you start to pet the cat it starts purring, meowing makeS sighs of contentment. It also lifts up it's paw and rolls over for you to tickle it's tummy. I also ordered batteries as often when things come with batteries run out quickly, so time will tell on that one. If you do not interact with the cat it goes to sleep & you need to stroke it's back to activate again. Can't wait to see mums reaction she loves cats so going this will bring her great comfort. I will update. Although this could be deemed as expensive it is going to be so worth it. The fur is lovely and soft made very well. It does have a slight noise when it moves but nothing that would bother you. Absolutely love him or her ❤️

It is cute and cat like and nice to have if you're not able to have a real cat.
I bought the ginger and white cat after my elderly cat recently died. I would love to get another real cat but I'm intending to move and travel in the near future, so the timing isn't right. My Joy for Living cat is a comfort. It has some weight to it and 'responds' to being stroked i.e. meows, purrs and has some movements including opening and closing it's eyes. It's very cute, pretty and cat like. It's nice to put it on the sofa/bed and help to fill the empty space left from my beloved pet. When I'm in a position to have another real cat, I'll donate my lovely Joy for Living cat to a nursing home. It would provide create comfort and pleasure, especially to residents with cognitive impairment and those who would love a cat but are unable to have one. Because of the technology, weight and feel of the Joy for Living cat it is far more superior and realistic than just having a plush, soft toy. I would recommend this purchase and I hope that the technology has some longevity. It is easy to buy the batteries though.

Incredible
A very lifelike ‘companion’ for anyone wanting a pet without all the hassle and cost of owning a real one. This puss does a lot of things that real cats do such as: washing his paw, rolling over for tummy rubs, turning his head and twitching his ears, as well as blinking his lifelike eyes at you. He sighs as he’s falling asleep and upon waking up again. He has several different meows which are all very endearing, including the most realistic purr which vibrates through his fur like a real feline; all in response to petting or movement and changes of light. RoboCat will even call you vocally with a series of trills and meows in the middle of the night, if you leave him switched on! He seems to be on some kind of long timer. However, there is a Mute or Off switch if desired. The slight whirring of the servos is minimal and doesn’t detract from the realism that a toy of this sophistication brings. I find him quite comical actually, he really is a very entertaining pet. The body is unique in that you can feel an inner ‘skeleton’ similar to a real cat, underneath all that fur, which extends throughout the entire body, the limbs and down to the paws. The weight is similar to a real cat and it’s soft in all the right places; it certainly doesn’t feel like a ‘brick’ as one reviewer described it. Even the tail, which someone said is merely two strips of fabric sewn together, isn’t as bad as that. Yes, it’s not stuffed but any filler would make it too stiff and the fur and fabric used give it enough substance to feel like a proper cat’s tail. It’s also designed to drape nicely and tapers at the end so it hangs convincingly. The fur is quality and dyed to mimic a real cat’s markings and it’s very fine textured and soft feeling with a nice length. I would advise brushing it often, with the specific brush provided, to preserve the fine appearance; don’t use a normal hair brush which tends to pull out the fluff. Someone thought the fur so realistic they were worried it might be real but the label clearly says it’s polyester. The battery housing is well hidden beneath the label on its underside and secured with velcro and it’s not difficult to open. I’m impressed with this robotic cat and think the Company have excelled themselves in providing a realistic, highly interactive toy at an affordable price. I will end by sharing some of the attention to detail I particularly like, one of which is his little mouth - a true red colour which includes a pink tongue and two little white pointy teeth! The eyes have proper eyelids and are a nice cat-like shape and emerald green. The little pads on its paws, though made from hard plastic (the only downside as they could have made them from a softer material such as rubber or leather) however, are proper pad-like and the correct pinky colour. It’s two floppy back legs are jointed and can be moved back and forth, as can its front paws. The ears are the right shape and realistic looking even on the inside, the whiskers are long and real feeling and the cat doesn’t need to be constantly petted to emit movement and sound on its own. It’s the proper size, weight and feel of an adult cat. In my opinion there is much attention to detail that as a real cat owner in the past, I can vouch for how funny, endearing and lifelike “Joy For All” cat really is. Ideal for everyone, not just seniors. *Some tips for longevity:* 1)I found that when the cat rolls back for a tummy rub, he needs to be on a flat, even surface like a chair, table, or your lap, where he won’t fall off - any RESTRICTION of its movements will cause the motors to whirr noisily and eventually wear out. 2)Branded batteries such as Duracell seem to last a lot longer than the cheaper ones. 3)I don’t really recommend these pets for young children because they are quite delicate, have a lot of moving electrical parts and sensors and won’t stand up to being pulled about. They are designed to be a sophisticated adult ‘companion toy’ or a fun pet for older children. I bought this as company for myself whilst working long days from home, and because I didn’t want a real cat with all the hassle and cost.

Nice cat but needs a longer life
My elderly mum has had Tibbs now for nearly two years. My daughter and I bought this tuxedo cat as she was the image of the real version many years ago. Mum loves her but I was dismayed to find the mechanism stopped working after about 18 months. Tibbs no longer leans back for a tummy rub and doesn’t lift her paw up to her mouth for licking which was an adorable feature. The correct batteries have been every time so all I can assume is that these robot cats have a very short life span. However, she still meows and purrs and my mother doesn’t seem to have noticed that the cat doesn’t do anything else anymore. I have marked it down because of short-lived mechanics, considering the price.

I didn't think mum would accept it, but she did!
We purchased this black & white robotic cat for my mother in law. She was recently widowed, followed quickly by a dementia & Lewy bodies diagnosis, she's 89. She had to go to the hospital, leaving her beloved real cat behind, so this cat seemed a good idea for the month she spent in the hospital. I wasn't sure it would be welcomed, like other reviewers mentioned, I thought it would only serve to remind her of her past real cat, however, it worked a treat. She never puts the cat down and it calmed some of her aggressive behaviour in the hospital. Unfortunately she does try to feed it her food and that can make the cat grubby, we have managed to clean it with a damp cloth, but a more washable fabric is worth thinking about for the manufacturer. We bought an extra small knitted dog coat for the faux cat, in order to prolong its cleanliness! It's been 2 months now since she last saw her real cat, as now she's in a care home, but she still isn't missing the real cat! Her faux cat is popular in her home and often goes missing, not a problem since the home is secure! She talks to the cat, laughs at its movements and its an odd mix of her knowing its faux, yet treating it like it's real. The cat is constantly turned fully on and the batteries last approx' 3 weeks. The hospital turned it to mute, maybe its meows were annoying someone! She can't always hear the meows, as she's very hard of hearing, shame there's no volume up control. She is rough with the cat and hardly grooms it, so much to my surprise it has endured the harsh treatment! The cat comes with a brush, but she lost hers in the hospital, we bought a round tipped replacement from a cheap shop. The meow sounds a tad high pitched and sounds like a woman making the noise, but it doesn't take anything away from mums pleasure. Some family members nearly choked when we told them what we had spent and bought, but now they say 'it's the best thing she's ever had'! Her real cat went to her grand daughters in case anyone was concerned!! I recommend this faux cat.

Fab companion
In my opinion this product is worth every penny I absolutely love it. It has sensors and responds to touch stroking movement infront of it greets me when I come home from work responds to light too. Movement great open and closes eyes lifts paw up lays down for belly rub different meows 😻 🐈 purrs . I miss my real cat and I'm not allowed pets in the property I rent . I've even bought her a cat bed. This is not just for people with dementia it's a therapy companion for anyone who loves cats . I'm very happy. Make sure you only use duracell no cheap c2 battery and alkaline not lithium

Quite astonishing
This beguiling creature is an amazingly well designed and constructed nearest substitute for a real animal you can get. I lost both my cats last year and am unlikely to get another for health reasons. Samson (just seemed like the right name) arrived yesterday, and I am amazed by the range and quality of sound and movement, the weight, and the sensitive design. It is impossible not to interact with the range of vocalisation, the rich vibrating purr and the eye, head, mouth and paw movements, including licking a paw and rolling to show a tummy. There is no discernible order to the reactions, which brilliantly aids the illusion. The designers clearly loved cats in order to create this simulacrum, which is comfortably and comfortingly on my lap as I speak. It is not real, but it fills a hole in the heart. I can see what comfort it could give to an older person, but also to a child, someone ill or disabled or even a fit, fine and well flat-dweller. I really do defy anyone not to play with or talk to it. If you think this might answer a need for yourself or someone you care for, do not hesitate, you will be delighted. As a P.S., most of the range of miaows are quite loud so if this for someone in hospital, say, there is a mute button, but you will still get the comforting purrs. P.S. My first visitor to meet Samson was enchanted and was thinking of getting one of the dogs as a companion for her own. This really is a joy.

Amazing dog therapy companion!!!
This dog is amazing!!! I am using this dog as a therapy companion for older adults with dementia and behavior problems. The great thing about this dog is that it also serves as a therapy companion for everyone including staff members in our nursing home!!! The dog is interactive to voice and touch. The bark is cute like a playful puppy. It can also be set on a mute setting where the dog moves without barking. The fur on the dog is so soft and it is very calming. The best thing about this dog is that you don't have to take it outside to do it's business and you don't have to feed it. I was so happy with this purchase that I bought another dog for our nursing home. This is on top of the 4 Joy For All Companion Cats that we bought!!! Kids love this dog as well. The daughter of one of our staff members loved it so much that she wanted to buy one for herself! You will be very pleased with this therapy dog!!! It is much more than a toy and it is much higher quality than a toy dog that you would buy at the toy store.

Mom Loves This Bird
My elderly mother loves this item. The beak no longer works when the bird chirps now. I don’t know if it was damaged in a fall or not. It should withstand a fall I would think. Otherwise all good.

Solta pelinhos
Para a função de doentes idosos interagirem, é muito onconveniente soltar pelos, podendo provocar alergias. No mais, excelente.
