After the third time I used it, I was able to tighten it just enough to apply enough pressure but not so much that it caused pain, ideal. Honestly I'm not sure this will cause a permanent change, but it seems every morning when I take it off that the size of the bunion is a little less pronounced and my big toe seems to be less angled toward the remaining toes. We just ordered two more ### ⭐ Needs re-tooling *by T***. on November 29, 2014* I think the design is good and it might do what it says it will. However, after putting it on it rubbed my 2nd toe so much it hurt. It also has raised letters on the outside of the plastic that also irritate my 2nd toe. The inside that rests against the big toe is padded but not the outside, I am now looking for a pad the I can put between the plastic and my 2nd toe so it won't get rubbed raw.
