Great Fan At A Good Price
I don't think there is much I can add to all the other reviews on this fan... It's pretty much a standard 20" box fan that has been around forever. It has three speeds, and comes with two feet you snap on upon opening to keep it from tipping over too easily. After that its open for business. Two things about it I liked right off, its exceptionally quiet in my opinion, and it also doesn't vibrate much. Sometimes the most aggravating noise that comes from these kind of fans is the racket that develops from its vibrating. This one so far remains very still when working. The fan has five blades and moves a lot of air. As far as the price, with Amazon prime and its free two day shipping, its the best deal around for one of these babies. I couldn't find one cheaper in any local stores. Highly recommended, especially if you are a Prime member.. : )

Nice economic fan
As summer approaches I decided to get another fan to help keep cool. So far this fan seems like a good fan for the money. Obviously, it's very basic and has no bells or whistles, just low, medium, and high speeds. What it does do is move a decent amount of air just like a good fan should. When it's on low it's actually very quite, while on med and high settings it does make a bit of noise. Of course, if you like some white noise in the background (like I do when I sleep) then this shouldn't be a problem. It comes with two plastic feet that you can slide on the back to help give it a bit of stability. Without the feet it's about 4.5 inches wide. The feet add another 2.5 inches when installed. I actually have taken the feet off and sit it in the window sill to pull cool air in during the evening and cool down the house. It sits just fine on the window and doesn't get unstable even without the feet (though of course it is also leaning a bit against the window).Overall, I think for the money this is a good fan and would recommend it if you just need a basic fan to move some air.

Defective motor
Had the item a couple a weeks and it's already failed. After just a few minutes of use now the motor produces a horrible burning plastic/electrical smell that fills the room and makes the unit unusable. Given that we've already thrown the box away and it would be a hassle to repack this thing for a return we decided to just write this off as a loss. Caveat emptor, folks. You do get what you pay for.Update: Amazon kindly agreed to replace the fan without our having to return the defective unit, for which we had no box, and we were sent a replacement. Unfortunately, the new fan has the exact same problem! This time , though, it takes a bit longer to stink up the room: after an hour or so of use it begins to generate a rancid odor that is none too subtle and unacceptable. Not sure why we are having such lousy luck with these things (a bad production batch??) since others seem to be pleased, but we are 100% done with Lasko products.

Plenty of power, low maintenance and long lasting.
Lasko makes a sturdy fan that moves a lot of air, but beware if noise is an issue.I ordered this fan August 29 2010, Since it arrived it has been running at low speed during the day when I am awake and high speed when I sleep at night. Thats almost 5 years of non stop use and this fan still works as well as the day I received it.If you want power, this fan has it in spades, the high setting really puts out some air, and while I'm not sure of exact numbers I know that it can make a tent out of my fairly heavy blankets. The fan is not a quiet one although the low setting is perfectly comfortable for me to sit in front of all day. When you crank this baby up to high though it gets really loud, for someone like me who needs white noise to sleep during the day this is a plus, but it could be a deal breaker for some. The overall construction is very sturdy, but there are a few weak points. The fan comes with little plastic stablizing legs that fit into the back and keep the fan level if you use it anywhere that isn't a window, these pieces work well but they do come loose or break rather easily so be mindful of that. Also the carry handle for the fan isn't the strongest, mine broke off two years ago, but thats still almost 3 years of fairly heavy use, so I can't really complain. As for the most important parts the motor, blades, guards and power knob are all still fully intact nearly 5 years later!Lasko really makes a quality product with this fan, if you don't mind noise you won't be disappointed.
