Used 6 pairs of Large strips to hang a framed painting of about 1mx1m weighing around 5kg on a wall in a tight space. It certainly looked better flat to the wall and fitting more neatly in the space than had been possible by hanging it in the traditional way. So far all good. The wall was/is painted plaster which is not one of the "don't use it on" surfaces. But, after about 18 months in place, long enough that we had grown confident in them, well, today it fell off the wall. The failure was not the velcro style fastenings but the adhesive from the backing strips which just gave way. They came off cleanly. Luckily the canvas was not damaged although the frame was, a little. I shall be putting it back up, but, this time I will be tying the traditional hanging wire at the back to the strong screw that it used to hang from in order to break its fall should this happen again. I'll also diarise to occasionally (annually) press the picture back onto the wall to try to maintain the adhesive join. I'll add a couple more strips for luck too.

These strips with the CLEAR, UNPRINTED thin plastic covering over the glued side are so awful they could be fake. I really struggle to find an edge to lift and peel away, often ending up peeling away the layer beyond the glue. The glue is now inferior, rarely holding the items/weight they're used on for an hour or more before falling away (when used as per instructions). These seem like such an inferior copycat 3M Command product - a waste of money & effort in my opinion. Will be looking for alternative products.

They do the job

Pros: The adhesive is strong and holds with a death grip. For the pictures I successfully hung, they are quite secure. Removing the strips from the walls is easy and damage-free if you pull the strip vertically down as instructed. Cons: if you follow the multi-step instructions to a tee, problems may arise when you have to pry the frame off the wall after 30 seconds of placing. In spite of being gentle, the strip came right off the wall with a good chunk of paint. For one photo, I simply couldn't pry it off at all and had to skip that step and hope for the best. Someone commented that the strips shouldn't be "clicked" together too firmly in the first step. I'll try that and hopefully it works and I can hide the hideous patches.

Be advised these do not come in the package shown.They are thrown loosely in a small brown box .The backing is clear plastic type material that is very hard to remove.

Does exactly what I needed them for. Great for putting up frames and other decorative items. As with other products in the range be careful when removing them from the wall
