Not for deep, soft melting snow
These Snowshoes seem to be well made, I really like the easy in, easy out of these and don't have to worry about the front straps cracking over time like plastic ones I've seen. Unfortunately my 1st time out in them was a nightmare. In deep but soft snow, all they did was sink to the ground and made it that much harder to pull my feet out of the snow. I bought them for #50 over my weight as well in case I use a back pack or pull a sled. I had no added weight today. These would be fine on a hard crust or trail, even on a lake if the snow hasn't started melting.

Easy bindings, good price
I just got these and went on a 1 hour hike in deep snow. I bought the 25" even though I weigh under 140lbs.. beacuse i wanted more float. We just got over a foot of light powdery snow and I did sink almost to my knee... and usually above my calf. But sounds like that is expected with deep powder (these are my first snowshoes). If you want a better float, then you have to go with huge ones, the tradeoff being that they would be cumbersome to walk in (ie. like the Louis Garneaur Blizzard II ones) . The turn dial bindings are awesome! Color is great! I shopped around and this was a great price.

Nice upgrade from my old pair!!!!
Love the easy bindings. The poles stay lock in place, not like last pair I had. I have a few friends looking to upgrade to these.

Excellent feel and control
I am an avid hiker/backpacker who used to also snowboard a lot before I got married and started a family. For years, I had been wanting to own snowshoes because renting them added up cost over time. First, I got myself a MSR -- no question about it, it is one of THE top brands -- and wow, what a difference it made while walking around in deep and shallow snow! However, at over $300, it was a steep price my wife did not want to spend. When I came across this Yukon one, the feature specs sounded quite good, and I decided to get it for my wife to try out. After having rented cheaper ones from our local sporting goods store, she loves this Yukon set!She tested the shoes on 20-30% snow covered inclines, declines, and off-camber traverses, and she was impressed (as was I as an observer) by how solidly she was able to navigate. Not one time did I see her boot sliding forward or backward in the binding (which she later confirmed), and most importantly, she said that they felt comfortable.PROS- Good performance and grip- Quick mount/dismount- Adjustable hiking poles included with snow baskets- Meshed carry bag included- Material appears well made, as should be expected for this price range- Binding pivots for easier mobilityCONS- Without a heel lift, it can make it more tiring to traverse upFor sizing, take into consideration your weight + winter clothing + food and water + other weight. The stated, total weight limit is 150 lbs, and if you significantly overpack, the shoes could sink more in snow than you would like.Overall, the wife is quite happy with these snow shoes, and equally as important, after seeing the value of quality shoes, she is no longer as upset with me for having splurged on the MSR one :)If you found this review helpful, please click the "Yes/Helpful" button below to encourage me to write more. Nice once you figure them out
My husband loves the snow, so we go to nearby snowparks several times each winter. After several years of hiking through snow drifts in just my snow boots, and struggling as I sunk with every step, I jumped at the opportunity to review these snowshoes. They make walking in the snow so much more enjoyable! It requires so much less effort when you don't sink to he bottom of the snow with every step! These are comfortable and lightweight, and the poles are very helpful for keeping your balance (especially as someone new to snowshoeing). The included carrying bag fits shoes and poles nicely, and has a handle both on the top and on the side so that you can carry or store the shoes vertically or horizontally. The bindings fit my size 7.5 Vasque snow boots well. There were a few loose stitches on my snowshoes, but I don't think that anything will end up being an issue to the shoes structurally. I think it was just sloppy finish work. My main complaint with these shoes is that they don't come with any instructions what so ever. Yes, you can find instructions on their website, but it would be nice to have basic instructions for the bindings and how to telescope the poles included for those of us who have never used this binding system or type of pole before. I also did not find the bindings easy to operate with gloves on. While I didn't have a problem using them with my gloves off (after watching the instruction video) I don't have the manual dexterity necessary to operate them with gloves on. Overall, from my admittedly limited experience, this is a very nice set. It seems to include everything you need to snowshoe (except instructions for us novices).
