Works great for my setup
Powered my Chromecast well from my TV's extra USB port. I heard it might not pull enough power to adequately power my Chromecast 2nd generation. I'm not sure what other information would help you know if it will also work with your particular setup but I have no idea what info would really help. Personally I just rolled the dice on this one hoping it would work. But here's all the info I can give my TV is not smart, flat screen that's a cheaper non name brand and it's a few years old. It has 2 USB ports in back and this uses one and the other is empty. I have not tried to run it using this cord for power when another device getting it's power from the other USB port.
