Avantree AH6B - Bluetooth Headset with Detachable Microphone

OK, so I have some really nice headphones already...but the over-ear makes my ears sweat and the earbuds makes my ears itch so what to do? These headphones are on the ear but structured so they are "stiffer" around the edge so they are very soft and comfy where they sit on you ear...and my ears don't sweat! This means the earphones don't seat all that well for noise cancelling, but they do a good enough job for me. The little boom mic adjusts +90 to -90 degrees and the fidelity is as good as my USB mic. They are light and don't squeeze my ears. The headband does not leave a dead spot on the top of your head like some of the heavier sets do. These are not $300 dollar headsets, but do a darned good job at much less the cost. UPDATE: The Bluetooth range on this set is way better than my Sonys and the battery life is as good as advertised. I use them for Teams meeting (the mike works great) but when I'm gaming or listing to audio books, I go to "Settings and disable the mike and go for the headphone setting, not the headset setting. Makes all the difference...I love these things. Five star stands...although wish they had a hard case. I'm buying another set for travel.

I work construction in a loud warehouse environment, these are the best headphones ever and I have tried dozens. Music quality is great, noise cancelation is top notch. The removable mic makes call quality awesome; callers don’t know they are on Bluetooth. I use them every day for work, professional conference calls, Air travel and working out. They are compact, and store very well in my messenger bag. They are also durable as I tend to abuse my gear. The battery life seems unlimited. I use them 8-10 hours a day. I charge them randomly and have only ever let them run down to the low battery warning on one occasion in the past six months. Even when I got the low battery warning, they lasted for another hour of music. The customer service is Fantastic. I broke the removable mic by accident at work. I contacted Avantree after I noticed that they did not sell the replacement mic in their website. They got right back to me and informed me that they would begin stocking replacement mics in there website, based on my feedback!! :) It is now listed on their spare parts section of the website. They even shipped me a mic for free just for bringing this to their attention. Not many companies seem to listen to their customers they way Avantree did for me. Thanks guys for your great product.

Headphone works fine, sound quality is good. Battery lasts a long time. HOWEVER, I did not understand that I woulc not be able to hear myself. Having a conversation when you can't hear yourself takes the conversation out of conversation. Avantre responded to my question about the not hearing yourself issue: "This feature is not included in the current AH6B. It will be available for Alto Clair headphone 2021 version." Others should be aware of this, I was not. The headphones are not usable to me, and will be thrown away. Update 2 days later: microphone no longer working.

These headphones had very good sound however the microphone was not good at all and would only work intermittently. The mic function was the main reason I purchased these headphones. Without a reliable mic these headphones were of no use to me so I ended up returning them. If you have no need for the mic function, these headphones are quite good.

THis are great headphone but they DO NOT work with skype in bluetooth mode. I am an IT guy. i do know about bluetooth and all that so its not a matter of miss-configuration but its a technical issue related to SKYPE not the headphones. i use this every day for work. there is a reason why headphones are labeled as "certified for skype for business. " you will see that skype logo is NOT on the box. so no matter what you read on here they will not work.... however, if you DONT use SKYPE.... everythign else is perfect with these headphones. they work perfectly with ZOOM and other services. the sound for music is great comfort is great. i would recommend for a Home user or a work user that does not use SKYPE at all.

These headphones are a great choice for a traveler. They have great battery life, excellent sound, are easy to use, provide both Bluetooth and wired connection, fold flat, and have a detachable microphone making them suitable for conference calls or Web Ex sessions in noisy locations. While they are not advertised as noise cancelling, I used them on a flight in a noisy section of the cabin but the headphones cut out most of the background noise and the sound was still clear. I cannot vouch for the advertised 20+ hour battery life yet. At the moment I have logged 10 hours of usage and over 5 days since the last charge which is impressive. In all a great purchase.

Prime example when a really good idea is executed badly. Main reason for me to buy this set was to be able to mute microphone independent of the conferencing tool I am using. And it does that, but the mic connection (3.5mm jack) quality is so BADLY designed for no reason, that it renders this set unusable really quickly. When it works, it's perfect, but mic connection goes very quickly. For the life of me, I don't understand why the mic is detachable. Awful execution of a great idea. Below is what I wrote earlier while the set was working. I bought it in November, and now it's April, and the mic died. However, I emailed Avantree, and they sent me a new headset, free of charge. Hopefully, this new one will last. The headset is great. May not be the best quality, or noise cancellation, I am sure some of the sound perfectionists will notice. Reason I bought it, is that this is the only wireless headset I found, that has a physical mute button so it works on the PC regardless of the app you are using it in. All the others have logical buttons which mostly don't work in Teams, Zoom, Skype etc., no matter what the manufacturer tells you. I initially gave 2 stars to this headset cause of the mute sound, which to some may be annoying, but I kept it, and it is not as big of a problem as I thought initially. First, thing, I usually use the soft mute in the app. Only time I use the hard mute, is when I step away from the PC. And second, the sound is not as disruptive to me as I initially thought. So great buy in every way. Battery lasts long, everything is great.

I needed a pair of comfortable, wireless, noise-cancelling headphones that didn't break the bank... *These Are Them*! Honestly, I debated if I ~neeeeeeeded~ the latest model for +$40 and when I decided on "no, these are fine", I'm very pleased I did. These are still great quality at an excellent price. No, they don't charge by hanging on a fancy stand, but neither do many of my other gadgets (a simple USB cord charger is perfectly functional). Also, the battery life is great and they don't even need to be charged that often. I'd say, if your teetering on getting these or not... DO IT!

UPDATE Sept24: after 4 years of use, the padding on the ears has perished and fallen apart, making the headphones completely unusable. The design would make it impractical to repair or replace the covers, so they will unfortunately have to go in the bin. All of the rest of this review still stands I was surprised at how difficult it was to find a simple set of Bluetooth headphones with a boom microphone on Amazon. This one seemed to be well-reviewed and looked like it was exactly what I wanted. I have not been at all disappointed with this unit. Music Sound Quality - The sound quality is pretty good - more than adequate for the purpose of listening to music from Spotify on my iPhone whilst out walking. During Coronavirus Lockdown I have been doing long walks every day (often 2 hours long). I wear these headphones to listen to music or podcasts and it's fine, with a rich sound, clear treble and mid-range and wholesome base. Phone call sound quality - on phone calls whilst out walking, I find the sound quality very good. callers at the other end also tell me that the quality sounds good at their end - apart from perhaps when it's a bit windy (I may try to find a small foam or fur cover for the microphone to counter that problem) Earphone Noise Cancellation - I don't believe there is any sort of active noise cancellation in these headphones. There is some level of what I would call 'noise isolation' - external noises are reduced by the padding around the ears but I can still hear traffic around me quite clearly at medium volumes. For me, as a walker, the balance is just about right. Too much noise isolation would probably put me at greater risk of being run over on the semi-rural roads I walk on!! Microphone noise cancellation - Again, I don't think there is any active noise cancellation on the microphone input. Some headphones use 'noise-cancelling' microphones, which are much more sensitive to nearby sounds and start to cut out sounds any further away than a few metres. However, I'm not sure if this unit uses such a microphone. When I've been walking and talking on the phone, callers tell me that the nearby birdsong sounds very loud. I guess I don't hear it so loud because of the headphones isolation the sound. Comfort - I have worn these speakers on hot and cold days whilst out walking. They keep my ears warm in the cold but don't seem too hot in strong sun. Controls - I like that I can terminate a call with the big button on the left side of the headphones or I can skip back or forward tracks with the buttons on the right Battery life - seems perfectly adequate. I can do several long walks between full charges So, overall, I'm very happy with my purchase

Cuffie comode anche per giornate di lavoro in video call. Buono il range e utile il doppio microfono, sia quello interno che quello rimovibile. La valutazione migliore va però al servizio clienti. Dopo un paio di settimane le cuffie hanno smesso di funzionare, o meglio si poteva ascoltare il suono ma non c'era verso di far funzionare il microfono. Contattato il supporto clienti da cui è scaturita una lunga e collaborativa corrispondenza. Dapprima è stato inviato solo il microfono rimovibile e successivamente è stato sostituito interamente il prodotto che evidentemente era difettoso. In conclusione, la valutazione del prodotto deve tener conto di questo importante aspetto su cui spesso non si presta attenzione.

Es muy buena calidad de audio y buen sonido

Muy contento con los auriculares. Yo los utilizo con el ordenador y la conexión es muy buena y muy rápida. Son cómodos de llevar y la calidad de audio y sonido es muy buena. Tienen bastante alcance con buena calidad, algunas veces estoy hablando por TEAMS y caminando por casa y no pierden la señal (vamos, la casa no es muy grande, unos 60 m cuadrados). Por ponerles una pega, el control del volumen no es muy cómodo, ya que van por una especie de rueda situada en uno de los auriculares y no se maneja muy bien. Pero por los demás, perfectos.
