Cybersecurity Blue Team Toolkit

Excellent all around Cybersecurity guide
This book provides a strong foundation for those trying to get started in Cybersecurity in a way I have not seen from other books out there. Most Cybersecurity training guides and manuals that I have read over the past many years discuss more advanced topics that are overwhelming to anyone who isn’t at an intermediate level yet. Alternatively, there are plenty of high level Cybersecurity books that are so basic that they never transition into applying those basics to more advanced processes or concepts. The Cybersecurity Blue Team Toolkit also uses easy to swallow analogies that make grasping concepts easier. I’ve worked in the Cybersecurity space for over 10 years and I still found things in the book that I did not already know.I’ve found that once you specialize in a Cybersecurity area (perhaps forensics, malware analysis, etc), you don’t use other basic skills that don’t apply to your daily work that drift away from you over the years. As a result, I can see this book being helpful for those transitioning from one specialization to another who just need some review.I strongly recommend this book for anyone trying to learn Cybersecurity for the first time, and also for those wanting some refresher over basics you don’t do everyday.

Great book for cybersecurity for beginning/intermediate practitioners
For the proper audience this is a very good book. It introduces concepts for those starting out and for those of us in a certain specialties an awareness of what others should be doing. Aa a 10 yr technical project manager who is learning to be even more technical, I enjoyed the flow of topics, hands on guidance and humor.

Good book
This is a very easy to read book that covers lots of thing in an easy to understand format designed to get your interest up about a topic so you want to learn more. Not written for the seasoned pro but for people just getting started in the IT Security field. Love it.

Great Entry Level Book with some Advanced Tips
This is a great entry level book, it starts out pretty slow, but picks up towards the end with some more advanced stuff. Its great if your new to security and pen testing, however even you're well versed in the area you'll still pick up a couple good tips.

Basic entry-level introduction to the topic
+1 stars if you are a college student or new to the subject matter.Seasoned professionals should understand that this is probably not a good book for them (-1 stars as a result). For example, this is roughly a 200 page book. It's peppered with CLI screenshots that sometimes take up half of a page. The first chapter is consumed explaining fundamental tools like DHCP, PuTTY, IPConfig, Netstat and NSLookup. If you haven't been exposed to these tools previously, it's probably too early to ponder whether or not you want to Blue Team anyone (or Red Team or White Cell anyone, obviously).Bottom line is to have a look at the table of contents before you buy (I wish I had). This is a perfectly good book if you are new to computer/cyber security and are looking for an overview. That said, the title suggests something more sophisticated and detailed than the end product provides -- do your homework or end up disappointed as I did.

A good primer and foundational learning
Great book for people looking to get more into InfoSec or gain a broader understanding of Blue Teaming. Comprehensive and informative. Having been in InfoSec for 10+ years, I still found interesting tools and things I learnt.

Feels cheap
Just picked up my copy this morning, must admit I was disappointed in the quality of this book straight off. Haven’t had time to go through the content as just got it (literally half hour ago) but the paper the print is on feels thin and cheap, the print is certainly not bold and I’m wondering what’s going on. I’ve noticed a few books feeling like this recently, not cheap books either.Im sure the content will be up to scratch hence the 3 stars but the quality itself is definitely a disappointment.

This book is condiments.
Not a great book I’m afraid, another ‘intro’ to a collection of network tools and software you wouldn’t run in an enterprise.
