Great unit, fantastic value.
First time purchase of a welding helmet. I am an online and self taught hobbyist. I wanted an auto darkening, adjustable, reasonably priced unit. This helmet delivers that. Comfortable, not heavy, optics performed flawlessly with a great viewing area that I experienced. The tightening knobs on the sides of the helmet (to keep it flipped up) aren't the strongest in build, but do the job if you crank them down to the point you fear breaking them. Is it "pro" grade? I'd guess that the plastic shroud, headband and tightening knobs are not quite that robust, but the optics seem very much so. Great range of adjustment (I used a 100 watt clear glass incandescent bulb to simulate an arc light for initial testing) with adequate delay and darkness ranges. I've worn "pro" hard hats for quite some time so it's a fair comparison as far as suspension and adjustments. For the price? Fantastic value and I've got around 5 hours of welding (actual arc in use) and have had zero issues with it.

Decent helmet option
Bought this along with two other Yeswelder helmets and an ArcCaptain helmet. All of which have the larger viewing lens. I needed to see In real time if the helmet would work with my eyeglasses. So I bought all four to try on. My previous helmet was a cheaper YesWelder that had a smaller lens, fogged easily in humidity and I struggled to see my welds. This particular helmet has the same cheaper head strap design and tightening knob in the back. It works for me as a diy welder. The strap on every helmet I bought, arrived warped out of shape. It’s has ample room inside for my prescription glasses. I didn’t choose to keep this helmet but it seemed like a decent option for the price and the black yellow dot design was cooler in person than what I expected. I don’t really care for the yellowish tinted lens. For the price, this is a decent helmet overall. The helmet ended up choosing was the ArcCaptain seen in the last few pics. Better viewing area, more internal clearance, better adjustment knobs. The last pic shows the adjustment straps compared with YesWelder on the left and ArcCaptain on the right. Welded with the ArcCaptain last night and I can finally see my welds clearly.

Clear lens, lightweight, comfortable, good buy/ value.
Great home workshop helmet! The only flaw is the control to auto lens cable is a fragile tiny ribbon wire, so I don't think it will hold up to daily outer lens changes or rough jobsite handling. However - its lightweight, has a great clear viewing area, headgear is very adjustable and comfortable. Will probably last a long time using it 2-3x a month like I do.

It is a quality Helmet that works perfectly,, and the price won"tkkill your budget.
It arrived the next day after placing the order. The helmet build seems solid with plenty of room for my respirator. It took a couple of minutes reading the instructions, but I figured out the settings. Once I started to run a bead it was evident that this helmet was a game changer. The field of view is amazing, but when you see the Tru Color and the clarity of the view! Wow it is something to behold. The control knobs are on the outside of the helmet, and very easy to adjust on the fly. the test button is on the inside which is nice that it is cause once you test, it is out of the way. The knobs that lock the helmet up really need to be tight, the sweet spot that holds it up and still lets you flip it down can be elusive. BUT with the view through the lens, I find I put it down and go to work. There is no need to do a lot of flipping. Its is a quality Helmet that works perfectly, the price is right, the build quality is evident, and the spare screen protectors are a plus. Get one!

Better than top dollar brand name hoods
I've used welding hood from about every major brand. Deco, Lincoln, Hobart, Miller. In my experience and from the comments others have said to me of their opinion after using my hood, it far exceeds anything the major brands offer in quality and clarity for a fraction of the cost. When clear, the lense has a olive green tint but it's very clear, easily can see without flipping the hood up. When it darkens its light blue and still very clear. The large viewing area is amazing too, it makes welding so much better and easier when I can see the surroundings to make sure I have my lead where i want it and good hand placement to steady the lead (MIG). I use it every day, throughout the day as a sheet metal assembler, mig welding on galvanized and galvanneal. Not once have I been flashed by the weld either. The hood uses Miller headgear too which I do recommend replacing as the stock headgear is really cheap and flimsy, but as I said it uses standard Miller headgear so it's not a problem to swap out. The control knobs and switches on the outside make it nice and easy to change on the fly too. I use my hood on minimal sensitivity and delay and it's perfect. As stated before, it never flashes me and even when I weld in tight places or around corners where the weld arc barely is visible, it still picks it up and darkens the entire time on minimum which impressed me greatly as other hoods would flash me or not darken at all unless it was on max sensitivity. One "con" I have which I quickly got used to, this hood is very heavy compared to nearly every other hood I tried. But at the same time it's very strong, it doesnt flex or bend much. At for the one with the american flag and eagle, it's a decal so eventually you'll probably hit the hood on stuff and the decal will scrape off over time. You will also need to buy the lenses specific to this hood because generic lenses will likely not fit or fit poorly and allow weld gas or debris passed the lens and cause damage to the screen. Overall, I absolutely love the hood and it was a great investment. I definitely recommend this to everyone regardless if it's your starter hood or a replacement hood. P.s. I only mig weld but I assume it would work well for tig too
