Hot water within 3 to 5 minutes. You can use loose tea and the spout has a mesh guard filter built in. Love the blue LED lights allowing me to see that I turned on the pot and watch the tea or water boil. If you have high calcium in your water use bottled spring water for a longer life to the kettle and no descaling needed. Power supply detachable via cord that plugs into the detaching base.

This Mixpresso is exactly like my first kettle which was much more expensive and lasted just two years (after daily use probably an average life.?) This kettle is a must as it boils water in about 4 minutes and on my electric stove it would take 20 minutes to boil 7 cups of water and waste electricity. The most important feature (which I did not realize at first) was the WEIGHT of the pot. My first kettle was light and this Mixpresso is light also, compared to many other kettles. (I had to search through lots of kettles and even purchased and tried another kettle before I realized it was the weight of the kettle which was causing my neck and shoulder pain) Forget that, I made sure to compare weights and found the Mixpresso. It makes a BIG difference once you add the water and have to lift the pot., especially if you have any kind of arthritis or pain issues. Another difference, which I hope makes this kettle last longer is that it is made of borosilicate which is supposed to make it much stronger than glass alone. I never had a problem with my other glass kettle, this pot just happened to have the borosilicate. I have no complaints so far as I just received it and it works just as I expected. I can't live without my electric kettle, I am spoiled by the convenience of boiling water quickly and being able to walk away and it shuts off by itself. I hope this kettle lasts a long time.

This kettle is larger than I expected but that is not a problem. I found the cord very stiff. The cord is 30" long and the plug is a 3 prong grounded plug. I do love the blue light that is on when the kettle is heating and the light goes off when your water is at a hard boil. The kettle was not hot on the bottom even with boiling water in it. This is a good value and comes packaged well. Heats water crazy fast.

Didn't last two months. After less than two months of use, the kettle has stopped working reliably. When you press the button for it to boil, it often won't turn on. Then you have to take it on and off the base to see if it will activate. You can't get the button to reset, so you can try again, so you're stuck. Not the bargain it appears to be. Spend your money elsewhere.

The kettle arrived quickly, in good condition, and worked perfectly out of the box. Boils water very fast and is fun to look at.

Update: Stopped working EXACTLY a year after purchase date! WTF?! Barely used, still pretty and new looking. I’d say I’ve used this a TOTAL of 20 times since purchasing bc I work a lot so I’m not home a lot. SO...DISAPPOINTED IS NOT THE WORD!PISSED! THAT’S A WORD!Love this! Keep it on my night stand for quick bedside tea in the morning. So awesome. Pretty too!

I think this is one of if not the best items I have ever ordered from Amazon. Thank you for this attractive, easy to use, quick boiling kettle. I keep it out on my counter, covered with a cotton napkin and use it every dat...sometimes multiple times a day. You, too, should be very pleased with this kettle.
