really interesting reading
Goes into a lot of detail about vitamin D and several other supplements, their benefits, risks, and interactions— and does so in a way that is accessible to a lay person and easy to understand. This is actionable intelligence you can use to talk to your doctor, and maybe change your life. Big Pharma is a lot more interested in treating disease than in curing it, because they profit when you take drugs for the rest of your life. But our bodies know how to heal themselves, or never get sick in the first place, if we give them the right fuel and use them as they were designed to be used. This information helps us do that.

If you want to try "true" high dose D you probably should get this book
I wouldn't want to be attempting really high dose vitamin D supplementing without this book. With the book I feel much safer. In the description there is a list of things you will learn by reading this book. One of them wasn't satisfactorily answered for me. How can I be sure true high-dose vitamin D therapy actually works? Other than MS being treated by Coimbra et. al. the examples given used dosing resulting in well under 100 ng/ml (250 nmol/L). This along with Jeff Bowles anecdotes in his book though are good enough for me but I was expecting more.It seems that both the author and Coimbra are confused about vitamin K2. Apparently Coimbra doesn't use K2 because he believes it can't be enough due to all the calcium being mobilized. Henriques worries that too much K2 could possibly put too much calcium into bones. They both fail to understand that you can't activate more than all of the K2 dependent enzymes made by your body. Once that happens you can add 100x more K2 with zero effect. There is no mention of why vitamin D exists. Vitamin D evolved over a hundred million years ago. It is a hormone. Hormones exist to cause the body to behave differently depending on circumstances. The purpose of vitamin D is to slow down body systems to help survive winter. People keep talking about vitamin D as if it was a nutrient. With nutrients less is bad because you use the nutrient for health. Vitamin D being a hormone is not used for any chemical reactions for health. It is a signal to conserve energy. If your blood level is below 60 ng/ml it signals your body to slow down. No need to fight a new patch of cancer when we can just wait until summer when there is more food and then kill it off. Today humans have blood levels well below the slow-down-the-immune-system point and it is that way for 365 days a year for their entire lives. Looking at it this way I don't understand why going way over 60 ng/ml would have any additional effect. Still, I am going to give it a try and I am glad to have this book.

Amazing D3
I don’t have Multiple Sclerosis, but lots of information reenforcing what I have learned through my own research. We all need to take supplemental D3, vitamin K2, and magnesium.I love dr Henriques style of writing. Easy to understand.

Worth its weight in gold
I have been taking 50,000 units of Vitamin D per day! Now into my third week feeling so much more vibrant, energetic, and healthier. I would not ever recommend doing this unless you are taking sufficient Vitamin K2 and are under a doctor's care because you could easily end up with hypercalcemia and get kidney stones after long-term use. However, there are many health benefits of high dosage therapy for an set time. The author goes into details of diseases cured by this wonder vitamin (which is not a vitamin, but a hormone). He goes into the interesting discovery of Vitamin D3 and how food manufacturers and restaurants were including large dosages in their foods. Hospitals were pretty much emptying out until the large Pharma stepped in.The author dives very deep into the biological chemistry, the synergistic effects between the different nutrients, and gives you recommended dosages for varying ailments. The best part of this book is that he gives the best and easiest analogies to help you understand everything he explains.I would certainly recommend this reading if you are exploring Vitamin D3 and K2 therapy.
