 I am an avid fisherman. Fly fishing mostly and I wanted a portable sharpening tool. I have used others in the past but they either couldn't handle my needs or were just too cumbersome to use.The Blize Tec Knife Sharpener has been a dream. First off it is light weight and easy for me to carry within reach due to the pocket clip.This is a three in one meaning I can sharpen not only my fish hooks and fillet knife but I can also sharpen serrated knifes as well. The diamond coating on the sharpener works very fast and extremely well. Hooks are sharp with only a couple of swipes!I give the Blize Tec Knife Sharpener 5 stars! Ok, so I was no sharping wiz when i got this sharpener, so I didn't bother to review it. But as I continued to progress on my skills, I felt ready to give this a review.Ok, so on to the pros. It is very portable. It's essentially like a pen, which is a HUGE plus for any outdoorsman like myself! It is also concealable too! It has a fishing hook sharpener, which to those who dont fish may seem useless, but for us fisherman, you know how awesome that can be!Now the cons (sigh). Again, i'm no sharpening genius so keep that in mind. To start of with, i can't get the razor sharp edge that i want and that i read in the comment sections. I just can't. I can get a WORKING edge, but not a super sharp, paper cutting edge. Secondly is the size as well (the irony). I like the portability, but it seemed a bit too short, though perhaps with practice i can shorten my strokes when sharpening. The last flaw i have with this is the grit. Now, unless i'm mistaken and there are more than one grit on here, it seems there is only one grit (my guess around 400.) This kind of sucks. It makes it hard to get a nice sharp edge,So in the end, I ended up costing this product 1 star, but don't take my word for it. It still is a good product, though i think that if you're a beginner (like i was) that you are better off with another product. Now, if you're a beginner, i HIGHLY recommend the Work Sharp Field Guided SHarpener. It has build-in guides that help you learn to keep a consistent angle (which makes this product hard to use, due to difficulty of keeping a consistent angle). For $30 you're getting a coarse grit, a fine grit, and a ceramic rod, each with built-in angle guides.

I purchased this to attempt to sharpen my electric fish filleting knife. I got tired of buying replacement blades that just never last. I catch a lot of fish so they get a workout. When I got this in I sharpened by best bad blades that were fixing to be thrown out. They were so dull you could hardly use them. I hit each serration with only 3 or 4 licks. I just tried them out on some fresh bass and it put the blades back in business. But please note, they were not as sharp as I would like but I can tell that with a bit more work....a few more passes, they will be better than knew. When hitting the serrations you can feel them removing material and quite frankly I was amazed because these blades are very, very hard. Great and handy product to keep around.

The Blize Tec sharpener was the best "portable" knife sharpener that I could find on amazon. There are other excellent whetstone knife sharpening systems but they are much more costly and not very portable. If you do not have a steady hand you can easily mar and scratch the side of your knife with the Blize Tec. Prior to this I have used a simple pull through accusharp knife sharpener and while that is a very good sharpener I've noticed that the edge will not last as long as when I sharpen it with the Blize Tec. WIth the Blize Tec you want to keep the knife at a 13 to 16 degree tilt as you pull it along the sharpener. The diamond/metal grit is very abrasive, it will sharpen your knife but you cannot really polish the edge. For camping and survivalists this is a must have. For home use a whetstone system may be preferred.

I put this in my hunting pack and its great to sharpen my knife if i need to while out in the field. Just practice with it so your well versed it using it. Its not a fancy sharpening system that you use at home on your bench so dont expect that. But can help you from being annoyed with a dull knife during your task and get you back in the game in a few minutes.

This is by far the best and most practical knife sharpener that I have ever owned! This sharpener gives the smoothest...sharpest edge..,that I have ever seen! It is quick and easy to use and stores very conveniently in its very well made pen- like case...The pointed end is a great idea and I'm sure it will work fine for serrated knives and fish hooks etc...An excellent product and great price... This is an awesome product. Beautifully designed to take up the least space yet deliver. The multi faceted sharpener works on virtually any size or shape of blade or fish hook. I have 8 or 10 sharpeners (it's a knife thing) and this one is my favorite. Strongly recommend.

Blize Tec knife sharpener is everything I hoped for. Quick delivery. Packaging protected product and simple to open. Instructions on back clear. Very lightweight so this is easily carried either in a pocket or in day pack. Sharpening knives is quick and simple...delivering a sharp blade with ease. Clip is a nice plus.
