Now this is a real Treat for anyone that has far too many files, games, videos, content, all sorts. :) i always thought they'd be slow until i realized the external power plug takes the weight off the computer this is super fast! and a lovely bonus is i can run steam games off it. Gigabyte large steam games. it can become a permentant part of my pc setup! Thank you so much!

Beware! Being Western Digital this is a great drive, quick, rekliable and trustworthy, BUT it is supplied with an American 110 volt power unit. I don't know if this is legal or not but it is certainly dangerous! If you buy this drive, which is actually very good value, you will also need to buy a British mains unit. WD do these themselves or there are sevreal availble from Amazon - I bought a MyVolt unti which works perfectls https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07N8L9JRQ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1. Prices vary from aroun £12 to £14.

This product is a product for the US market and has a US plugged power supply. I could use another power supply but I am concerned about invalidating warranty. AMAZON NEEDS TO MAKE IT MUCH CLEARER WHEN PRODUCTS THEY ARE SELLING WILL NOT CONNECT TO THE UK POWER SUPPLY WITHOUT SOME ADDITIONAL PURCHASE OR MODIFICATION.

Just opened the package and no uk plug which considering the product was on the uk site is very disappointing as i will not be able to use the drive until i can source one.

The HDD was supplied with an American power adapter. The adapter hasn't been certified for use in the UK/EU (CE mark is missing for starters), and should therefore not have been sold in the UK.

EDIT (3-01-2023): Lo sigo utilizando, de hecho ya incluso tuve un accidente de que se me cayó de una mesa hasta el suelo y no se descompuso. Lo sigo recomendando ampliamente, pero definitivamente lo ideal sería que no se arriesguen a ningún accidente que se los dañe. Estoy pensando comprar otro próximamente porque ya prácticamente lo llené. Lo acabo de recibir y ya me puse a copiarle cosas, trasnfiere alrededor de 200mb/s, esta funcionando muy bien y pues la prueba del tiempo dirá (hasta hoy en día ningún disco duro que he comprado me ha fallado por lo que espero este no sea diferente). Lo recomiendo bastante sobre todo si esta en oferta, una ganga si les sale barato ya que seguro para un uso regular les puede durar varios años. La operación es igual a la de cualquier otro disco duro que he usado, basicamente plug and play y pues los materiales se sienten básicamente iguales a los de cualquier otro disco duro, con tener el cuidado de no golpearlo ni nada sobre todo estando en operación debiera de durar muchos años. Lo que ahora me 'sorprendió' de este es que tiene un botón como de encendido/apagado que todavía no se para que sirve, pero esperaría que es para apagarlo en algún momento cuando lo desconectas de la computadora o algo así, o tal vez para poderlo apagar sin tener que mover cables, ya lo probaré próximamente pero en general no le doy importancia a eso, con que la calidad lo respalde para mi es más que suficiente. Supongo que vale la pena aclarar que los 'tera' bytes se cuentan más bien por cantidad de bytes sin convertirlos en realidad a terabytes, osea tera es en cuanto a prefijo multiplicador, osea como mega es millón, giga es mil millones y tera es billones, entonces son 10 billones de bytes, pero al convertirlo viendo que 1024 bytes es un kilobyte y asi sigues dividiendo hasta llegar a los Tb, verías la cantidad final de 9.09 Tb que es lo que trae el disco. Si necesitas más de esa cantidad de almacenamiento, busca otra opción.

Ist meine 5. Platte von WD und läuft ohne Probleme und ohne Geräuschentwicklung. Sehr überrascht war ich wie mein Vorredner vom Netzteil. Adapter von Hama gekauft und passt; wackelt auch nicht, nur nimmt er auf der Strom-Steckerleiste mehr Platz ein. Werde mal ein neues Netzteil von KesCom ausprobieren. Ich nutze WD-Platten seit 5 Jahren und noch funktionieren sie alle bestens. Bin begeistert.
