Valterra ABS Gate Valve for RV, Camper, and More - 3-Inch Hub x Spigot Connection

Very easy to install , universal adhesive works well!!

I bought 2 since they were reasonably priced and I needed the same connector on both sides as this is for an inline operation and not for the outlet before the hose attachment. These DO NOT have the bayonet mount attachments for your hose, you will need an additional piece for that. The slide mechanism moves open and closed easily, and you can see how well it seals when closed. The handle is not flimsy, although for my application I will not be using the handle. The craftsmanship is very good and they are made to be durable. I was surprised by the quality vs. the cost.

Seals could be a bit higher quality, but work ok.

My motorhome already had a third valve just like this, but it had a Thetford fitting glued on. I wanted to change to the more common Valterra style fittings, so I had to replace the valve. The problem was the old valve was glued onto the pipe from the RV with no room to glue on a new valve after cutting off the old one. My solution was to buy this new valve, which appeared to be the same as the old one. I then took the old valve apart and removed the exit half of the body (with the Thetford fitting glued on) and the middle section that is the valve gate. I then disassembled the new valve and assembled the new gate section and the exit part of the body to the old inlet half of the body that was still on the RV. I then glued a Valterra fitting on, and now I can use the common style of RV sewer hose without any adapters. Thankfully, the manufacturer hasn’t changed this valve in a long time or else I couldn’t have made this work. Sometimes the old way doesn’t need to be changed.

Was easy to install and built very strong and sturdy. It stopped out water leakage on our black tank discharge unit, and it was very easy to use there on after.

This 3" Hub valve from Valterra was just what I needed for the new RV plumbing system I"m building. I was imppressed with the quality and the feel of the product and when disassembling to glue up and install it was easy to work with and you could see the thickness of the gaskets that properly seal the gate valve. Works great and fits with standard 3' abs from any local hardware store. I also would like to make a note that because the valves are bolted together they work double duty as a disconnect point in the future if I need to remove a tank or any part of my system. I have purchased several more and would recommend them to those in need of a quality gate valve.
