This stuff is great
I recently decided to give this product a try and am glad I did. One thing I've found it effective at is cleaning sweat stains from shirt collars. But what really impressed me was the result when I decided to try it on some old (read: years) pen stains. I once put an open pen in my pocket while wearing a pair of work trousers I really like, and it left several ink stains that soaked through to the front. Washing, even after treating the stains with Oxi, didn't do much good. The stains were small enough that I couldn't quite bring myself to toss the trousers, but they didn't get much use after that. Then I treated them with Amodex, figuring it was probably far too late but couldn't hurt to try, and was amazed to see it make a dent in those stains. I really went to work on them at that point (it's not like they just instantly melted away). And in the end the stains washed out. Mostly, at least; they're still visible on the inside of the pocket, but what do I care about that? A pair of trousers that I thought I'd almost ruined is now, years later, entirely presentable again.

Does not work well to remove permanent marker on clothing.
I was looking for a stain remover to work on clothing labeled with permanent ink & thought the description said it would. Although it may work well on other stains, it did not remove the permanent ink I had used to label my late mother's clothing while she was in memory care. I'd hoped to remove her name so I could donate the clothing to charity.

Truly works when nothing else does
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Truly works when nothing else does This product is nothing short of amazing. I originally purchased Amodex out of desperation after my (then) one-year-old wrote all over a bedroom’s walls and door with permanent marker. I tried everything—multiple cleaners, scrubbing, I even went as far as priming and painting over one if the walls — but nothing worked. This product was suggested to me, and I honestly couldn’t believe the results. The permanent marker came right off. Since then, I’ve used it on many other marks and stains with consistently great results. It removes pen, marker, those odd crayons you can't just use a blow dryer on, and other marks on walls and similar surfaces with ease. I’ve also used it on carpet stains, including stubborn red stains that had already been treated with multiple other products, and Amodex still managed to remove them. **The amount of money I could have saved and have now saved due to finding Amodex is astounding. I truly can't praise it enough. You get more bang for your buck than anything else I've tried (and having 3 kids plus dogs and cats over the years, I bet I've tried most products out there). The fact that its environmentally friendly makes it all the more miraculous. It has a very light and pleasant scent, too.

Not sure if Magic or a miracle but I'm amazed by it.
My mother had a Sharpie explode on tan carpet last year. I tried everything to get it up at the time nothing worked due to the volume of ink. Tried all the home remedies and different supplies without much luck. Picked some of this stuff up a few months later and worked like a charm. I put a dime size glob on the stain and scrubbed it in. at first I was worried since it looked like it was getting larger but after about 5 minutes I ran the little handheld shampooer over it and it pulled all the ink out. My mind is totally blown by how effective it was. I didn't notice any chemical smells or anything from it. I'll definetely be buying a larger bottle to keep on hand in the future.

I was skeptical, but it did a great job on Sharpie
In spite of diligently checking pants pockets, I somehow sent a Sharpie through a load of laundry - both washer AND dryer. I figured it was a lost cause, but there were a couple of items (like my daughter's favorite jeans) that were essentially irreplaceable. This stuff really worked! We didn't get out every trace of the ink, but it was vastly improved - enough for her to still wear the jeans and for me to wear the new sweatpants that had been ruined. A hoodie wasn't quite as successful, but it had received the bulk of the ink and had some huge dark spots. I was still able to rescue it sufficiently to wear it running errands or similar things where I want to look presentable but I'm not worried about looking great. 5/5 overall because I honestly can't believe how much it improved the ink stains and removed many of them. Do pay attention to the directions - make sure you apply it to dry clothing, rub it in well with a clean paper towel underneath to catch bleeding ink, reapply and rewash if you don't get it on the first try, etc.

It works! (Within reason)
Short version: If you are trying to rescue a favorite shirt, this product is worth a try. Based on some of the other reviews, I was ready for it to not work at all, but on the contrary, it does! It DOES work very well on SOME stains. Just follow the directions, and keep your expectations realistic. My husband washed one of my favorite shirts with a pair of his pants that had a ball point ink pen in his pocket.. of course his pants turned out fine, and my shirt got spots all over it! They were small, but dark. I waited to wash the shirt until this product arrived first. I first treated the spots with the amodex, per the instructions, scrubbed it in a bit with an old toothbrush, and then laundered it. I was surprised and relieved the ballpoint pen ink spots were completely gone! However, this product did NOT completely remove a small, older dry erase marker stain on the same shirt. But I wasn't optimistic about that to begin with. I think it lightened the stain some, and with a few more treatments it might come out, but dry erase ink has silicone in it, so it can be difficult to remove after it's been there for a bit. Perhaps if I'd had this on hand when my shirt first got marked, it would be a different story. As I said before, definitely use this before running a newly stained item through the wash, not after.

May work on other things.
Didn't work for what I wanted. I am trying to remove the expiration date from a plastic container.
