279838 Dryer Heating Element

Thank God for YouTube and Amazon. My dryer quit heating. After cleaning and replacing the vent hose, I determined the heating element was burned out. Ordered the parts and got them in less that a week with free shipping, put them in and dryer is working again. Thanks to this vender I saved $150 in service fees for a simple fix. Don't be afraid to try your own repairs, if this 68 year old woman can do it, anyone can!

My dryer stopped drying, was just blowing cold air. Checked heating element and was broken.Order and installed on a WHIRLPOOL LEQ9508KQ1. Looked for part 3403585 and this came up..Got it installed pretty easy if you are a DIY. Been working great since!!!

Usually, I get worried with buying parts so cheaply, but I took the chance and I am glad I did. This piece is exactly what I needed to get my dryer working again. What a great price and it came sooner than was listed. If ever I need another heating element (hopefully it will be a few years!), I will definitely come back to here.

This product taught me to take negative reviews slightly more seriously and even verified purchase positive reviews less seriously. This is one of the cheaper replacement parts for this model available, and it will prove that to you, good and hard. We received the product in short order, and aside from being at all useful for any length of time, it was exactly as advertised. Installation was fairly easy if you check out a few basic online videos, so you can have that to warm your heart when your heating coil no longer warms your wet laundry. As you may have guessed by now, we were not satisfied with this product. We thought it was perhaps getting a bit overheated quickly, but we had not tested the old part before it went bad, so we didn't have a lot of data against which to compare. For just under two months, from install in early September to Sudden, Ignominious Death just before Halloween, it worked fine, even if (ironically, given our earlier impression) laundry took longer to dry. Not a lot longer; maybe a quarter-cycle longer, sometimes a half-cycle longer. Would that the preceding two sentences were the end of the review. The dryer ceased drying clothes altogether, though it continued to tumble. We tried replacing fuses -- easier than replacing anything else -- and they were fine. Finally, we removed this part, and what to our wondering eyes should appear, but the coils were blackened and snapped, it was clear. Clean, beautiful snaps exposing silvery, cheap metal. Presumably, the overheating coil followed by normal cooling was too much for the abomination of an impression of pig metal out of which this thing was crafted. Having purchased a more expensive replacement, the differences are (sadly, only now) obvious. The construction is cheaper and clearly worse-engineered to redirect heat away from the coils; you can even see where heat is directed back by the addition of brackets (very cheap brackets that take the place of incrementally-slightly-more expensive forged/stamped clips). In a totally amazing turn of events, the areas most affected by that increased heat are exactly where the coils snapped! Mirabile dictu, it's true. Don't buy this. Please. If you do, for some reason, order it as a recurring item, and use the regular replacement you'll have to do to bring yourself to a level of expertise in your dryer's construction and operation normally reserved for things at which you'll make money or in which you'll find pleasure or at least emotional satisfaction. If I could give this zero stars, I would. I can't. I just tried, twice. Caveat emptor.

Part was easy to install and my dryer works perfectly! Took away 1 star because delivery date was not as promised when ordered (and we needed it quickly), but the product was easy to install once we received the delivery.

I was able to get a heating element, thermal fuse, and the thermostat for less than half of what the heating element costs at my local store. The instillation was easy and shipping was quick. Unfortunately it was my dryer motor going bad causing it not to heat so I couldn’t tell if the parts were working as I returned them to get a whole new dryer.

I bought 2 heating elements in September 2019 and installed them. By May 2020, one of the heating elements was completely fried.All 5 coils burnt out. This doesn't get 1 star because the other one is still working fine. Maybe i got a defective one, who knows.

EZ install after viewing utube on the issue I was having with my dryer-not heating. Was able to look up part and found it as soon as I entered the part number on Amazon. Fast delivery one day had my dryer up and working FAST! Item was as advertised packaged securely! Price was great, much savings vs calling a service tech out and the savings come back to me and having the satisfaction of doing the job myself!
