I have probably reviewed Contigo Travel Mugs elsewhere, as I now have a few of my own in different sizes and colors. These were bought for my Mom, who has to microwave her coffee three times or so to get to the bottom of a cup. She was THRILLED about how long this stayed hot (which is a good thing, because you can't microwave the steel mug). I love the fact that Contigo Autoseals do NOT leak. Not a drop. Seriously. In the morning, I pour in coffee, add sweetener, add milk, screw the lid on, then shake VIGOROUSLY to mix my java. Great product. There have been improvements in the lids over time and I don't know which Contigo units have the lid that opens up for cleaning, but if you have an option, get that kind which open. Even black coffee can make the lid pretty gross after months with the spring mechanism that keeps the lid shut tight. On the old style, I found pouring hydrogen peroxide in there for 15 minutes then rinsing under a hard spray of water does a pretty good job of getting the gunk out.

These travel mugs are GREAT and keeping liquids warm for long periods of time. I commute to work, and my coffee is still nice and toasty a couple of hours after pouring it in before leaving in the morning. The design is also great--being able to drink from the mug by pressing down on the lid right where your had naturally lays makes it very easy to drink from. Also, because you have to actively press down on the lid to drink and the mouth hole is small, there's a very low risk of spillage--which is invaluable for those of us who sip our coffee on our way to work. Another nice feature is that the lid screws on to the mug itself, so if you drop it, the coffee is nicely contained and won't explode all over you. The downside: The lid is a little hard to clean. I've tried soaking it and putting it in the dishwasher, but haven't had a lot of luck. Because the mechanism doesn't stay open on its own, it adds a bit of a wrinkle. If you're super diligent and rinse the lid immediately after finishing your beverage, this is probably less of an issue. Since I don't really wash my travel mugs until I'm home at night, it's a little harder to get it as clean as I would like (that said, the mugs work fine and are definitely not gross, or showing significant residue--I just really like for it to be CLEAN). Nice colors, too!

it does not keep my coffee hot for even I hr I would hope it would have kept it hot for at least 2 hrs

This mug is great! Truly does lock! I tested it upside down in mu purse (crazy I know) amd not one drop came out. I'm worried as to how to clean the spring mechanism but I rinse it everyday woth soap and water so it wont get nasty. The company os great too. They sent me the wrong color and promplty returned half my money. Kudos. All in all I would highly recommend this mug. Oh most important, it keeps my coffee hot for well over 4 hours! Love it!!

Great cups, but would've been better if the had the easy-clean lid & locking spout feature, which the newer versions have. Very happy with these for many years, except for the fact that the lids are very difficult to keep clean. Despite rinsing them after each use, I had to eventually throw them out since I couldn't get the lids clean.

The caps for the mugs are really hard to clean. I bought these thinking that they would be interchangeable with my other Contigo mugs, but they aren't :\

My first Contigo coffee cup was given to me 2005. i literally used it every single day until 2011 with a one year break ( no kidding) it still keeps my coffee hot/warm for 2-4 hours! It never leaked ever! i opted to replace it as my first had been through the ringer!! this style is different, but we've been using them for 3 months and they seem every bit as good as the predecessor! no spills and keeps liquid hot for much much longer than anything out there! I like the durability and reliability of these cups!!! look no further!

If I could I would give this cup 10Stars. I have had dozens of coffee cups in the past. This cup is amazing!!! I got the 2 pack, one for myself and one for my husband. We both love them. I can put this in my pocket book and be worry free that my coffee is not going to leak. I love the toggle lock that this cup has too, it just adds to the security of knowing that your cup isnt going to leak. Go ahead and try it!!! This cup is worth every cent.
