Aquarium Fish Tank Deep Six Hydrometer For Measuring Water Salinity PPT and Specific Gravity

These are pretty accurate if you need to take a quick ballpark measurement and don't have the time to work a more precise device. You ABSOLUTELY need to "season the needle" by soaking it in 35ppt salinity water. Before I seasoned it, the needle showed 1ppt higher reading, which is probably why some people think it's inaccurate. The scale marking are excellent, actually and they even put in a bubble remover on the intake.

Works as expected easy to read and pretty strong

I compared this with my LFS digital tester and it is Accurate. Right out of the package it is not accurate but follow the directions and season as instructed and you will have an accurate budget tester.

I bought this product to replace one that I had used for several years. The old one was easy to use and worked pretty well, but it developed a crack. The new one incorrectly showed a reading of 1.030. That would have been a disaster for my reef tank. So I checked the water with a good refractometer that indicated 1.025. I'm very disappointed with my purchase.

Easy to use and seems to work. Whether or not its really accurate is unknown to me as im not familiar with salt water. Im using it for trying to create water conditions for amano zoes. Some things to know when using this is that the instructions say you should let it sit with salt water for 24hrs before doing the actual test. Also once its ready for testing you should kind of smack the bottom to the floor somewhere soft not hard. Learned it off youtube and it seems to get the dial to move properly otherwise the dial just shoots straight up.

This was easy to use and works great. It will explain were it should read for a fish tank or a reef tank. This is for saltwater tank only

The product is not expensive and must needed product for salt water hobbits The product work fine but its sometime pain to understand if the reading is correct. For example it will show 1.028 and immediately after it will show 1.024. What I understand that even tiny bubble trapped in water cause the inaccuracy in the reading , sometime very tiny bubble not visible to normal easy can also hurt the accuracy of the reading hence not easy to use Still I somehow make it work , I used to perform 8 to 10 test before confirming its giving correct result Overall low price product and can get ur job done , just need to be patient about multiple time testing back to back to make sure u get the right reading

Got this thinks it would be perfect for my brackish tank and they didn't even send the one in the photo and the one they sent dosnt even read well would not recommend
