Tighter fit.
One of the virtues of Shoei Helmets is different size/thickness crown and cheek pads to get the fit just right. When the crown is slightly loose a thicker pad is what you want. Check compatibility with your helmet size.

Perfect fit for my 17 year old Shoei helmet
Called two helmet suppliers and even called Shoei customer tech service directly to ask if this replacement liner will fit my 17 year old helmet. All of them said it will likely not fit in my 17 year old helmet.. and that i should throw my perfect condition $1000 helmet away and order a new helmet because "you're supposed to replace your helmet every 5 years anyway to be safe". I looked carefully at the four attachment points in the product's photos and they looked identical to my helmet's attachment points.. so took a chance and ordered it. It fits and attaches perfectly. The helmet is snug, comfortable and feels like a brand new helmet. Sure seems like i got a bunch of bad advice from some greedy helmet salesmen.
