Best tools on the market hands down. Second to none!
I've been using Klein Tools for nearly 50 years, and this center punch awl is no exception. Klein Tools makes the best tools for just about every trade. I was alignment for several years and all of our tools were made by Klein.

Its from Klein - it works.
Only negative I can find is it is alittle top heavy to use for any scribing. As a palm puch it works just fine, and can take a hammer blow as well. Good value as you'll never wear it out if you know how to sharpen a punch. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Strong
This is a strong, and well made scratch awl. Most awls are just a tip pressed into a plastic or aluminum handle, this one is made from one solid piece of steel. Works very well to pierce oil filters so they can drain before removal so they don't leak oil all over your hands and down your sleeve. If you have spin on filters that are oriented with the gasket to the top, you know what I mean. Saves me a lot of mess, and is much stronger than the awl I had before. Before this one, I was using one with a plastic handle and wound up breaking it. The one piece design of this should prevent that from ever happening. It is heavy, but in a good way. A little rough finish in places, but done right where it counts.

Can't go wrong with this Klein tool.
Purchased this after my decades-old awl broke. The product was as advertised in the marketing materials. The quality and the usefulness of the tool is exactly like that of my broken one. The price was reasonable for a tool that I expect to last a few more decades.

Scratch?
Don't let the name or the length fool you, these awls are made to be hit by a hammer to make holes in anything up to sheet steel. The overall length is 7". Good quality tool steel. Reasonable price. Come very sharp & are easily resharpened. Hard to bend the tip. We use for making the screw holes in sheet steel siding and roofing.

Sturdy, fits well in the hand, sharp enough right out of the package. You won't regret having this in your kit!

I hone the tip to be very sharp. Most often it's used for making small starter holes in wood for drilling, sometimes as a scribe on wood or soft metals.
