better than I expected
These are cheap skates and they might look a little cheap and plasticky/synthetic too, but I'm perfectly happy with them. I didn't know if after the first enthusiasm passed, the kids would continue to like skating. These cost just slightly over the price of a one-time rental at the rink (Manhattan). I wasn't expecting much, but they are absolutely fine. Used them three times now (they've already paid themselves off) for about one hour each time and neither of my kids complained about sore ankles, sore/sweaty/cold feet or anything. They seem to support the ankles well, the closing straps are fine and seem like they will last. I think they're good value for money.UPDATE winter 2018/19: Third year using these skates! Did not (need to) adjust the size for the second winter. Just adjusted the size now. Difficult! (you really have to pull hard - maybe because they were already 3 yrs old and getting stiff?) Adjust by pushing the button and pushing forward the ankle section. It took two of us to do so, one holding the back, one pulling the front - once again, may be easier if you do it when they are new(er).

Easy comfort - remember to get them sharpened!
I purchased these for my daughter as a beginning pair of skates. We both love them! I love how easy they are to adjust the size and to put them on and take them off - no laces that loosen up as you skate! My daughter loves they way they look and feel. Before our first time out I made sure to get them sharpened (all new skates must be sharpened or they won't grip the ice). My daughter quickly got her balance and was having a great time at the dj night skating. The smallest size is still slightly long for my daughter, so she wore thicker socks. Since the sides are somewhat flexible and can be adjusted, we were able to still get the skates snug around my daughter's feet and ankles thus providing excellent support. After almost 2 hours of skating, I wish I had a pair of these skates instead of my old lace-up figure skates! Seriously!

tI means owning one skate for several years. That's a top buy!
These are awesome. I didn't write a review in a while for these. I just found out if you press the button on the side of the boot, it slides out. Until now I was not convinced it was adjustable! But it is. After we (my son and I) found this, we were very very happy with this. It means owning one skate for several years. That's a top buy! (especially with a kid's feet growing so quickly) Now they need to figure out a way to have a ski boot that expands....

Good for 5 year old boy
I bought these for my (almost) 5 year old son. His feet are big for his age, I think, but these seem to fit. He hasn't complained about them at all. He's just learning how to skate, and these seem to be doing a good job. It takes a minute to get them on and off (due to the fastening system) but once on, they stay tightly adjusted, so that's good. We have them on the smallest size setting now, and hope that they're equally as comfortable for him when we adjust them to fit his bigger feet next year.

Good enough
Cheap states, but good enough for my kids to learn to skate. They did not have any complains after a few uses and enjoy them very much. Being bale to adjust the sizes is great, it will last longer. They run a bit small, my kid is size 2 and we had to adjust these to size 3. Regardless, we still have one extra size available. Some of the materials seem a bit on the cheap side, but the also looks sturdy.

These are a nice set of entry level skates for the little girl ...
These are a nice set of entry level skates for the little girl who wants to learn to skate, but is unsure if she's going to like it.They're easily adjustable, the buckles seem sturdy and she says they're really comfortable.Money well spent without breaking the bank.

good for beginners
sturdily built, size is adjustable so it's good for a few years. It's a good set for beginners. If you get more serious, upgrade, but this worked well for me. It's more comfortable than the upgrade too.

You get what you pay for
I bought these for my 4 year old and she’s only skated once before. If she was spending any more than 20 minutes in then at a time a few times this winter I would replace these skates with something better. The clasps were stuck shut initially and I had to use all my strength to free them. Also, the tongue doesn’t fit right inside the skate when you have it on. It sticks out awkwardly one one of the sides. I think the problem is that the plastic body is very cheap and curves inward toward the center (which also makes them a beast to put on). I’m hoping with a few more uses they’ll reshape a bit.

Great Ice skates ..
Really pleased with these Ice Skates totally met with my expectations from the sellers description.. They look good..I like the fact my Granddaughter doesn’t have to worry about lacing them up.. Price really good. They look like they will help support her balance as she grows in confidence on the rink .. Definitely recommend if anyone is thinking of getting these hopefully like me you won’t be disappointed.. Great Christmas Gift

Good value
These are good value skates for my new to skating 9 yr old who has very thin feet - she found the boots to hire very uncomfortableQuite similar in style to a ski boot with long blades and good supportVery please for my beginner

Great skates
Present for daughter, she loves them. So useful to be able to adjust the size & have a few years of use.

Buy a better pair.
The Fisher price of skates. If you value your child's safety stump up for a decent pair of skates. Returned as soon as I felt how cheap and flimsy these are.

Great for beginners
Got them as my daughter has just started ice skating. Great value and can be adjusted to different shoe sizes. Comfortable and easy to put on.
