Working really well now , was a little difficult to understand instructions but got there in the end . Delivery was on time as always from Elixir.

Easy to use. Better than I expected.

Just the job for bringing on seedlings early!Working well in a cool greenhouse.It was easy to install and economical in that it is the same as a 50 watt bulb. The thermostat holds 15 degrees on cold nights and shuts off at 17 degrees on warmer days.

I have this in a damp sand box 1.2m x 42cm and it seems to be working fine so far.The temperature read out coincides with my soil thermometer. The instructions for the thermostat are the usual nonsensical lazy direct translations. There are also functions that are not required. Soil warming cables need to switch on and off when the temperature falls below or goes above that set on the thermostat. That’s all, nothing else is required, the end, finis, finito, nada. This has not required, Sun, cool and delay settings that I’ve not worked out yet so in the absence of decent instructions trial and error is the order of the day. Hence 4 not 5 stars.Otherwise pleased with product

I purchased this as I had the idea of building a heated tray to hold 4 Propagator trays, as it would be cheaper than buying 4 trays!I could not be happier with the outcome as I have it working in my un heated, but insulated, Greenhouse during the last period of cold weather where the internal temperature dropped to -5 degrees Centigrade. My trays sat on my heated tray where the soil temperature was maintained at 30 degrees Centigrade.The trays were maintained at a comfortable temperature for some seeds that I sowed, various veg, herbs and flowers and they have all germinated and are growing happily, despite the external air temperature within my greenhouse not getting above 4 degrees centigrade.Highly recommend this product and I am not being paid to say this!

I bought this a few years ago for a homemade seed propagator. It worked for two seasons, each about 6 weeks long, and since then has malfunctioned giving me readings of 166 degrees Fahrenheit on cold Spring days when measuring the ambient temperature, or threatening to heat my soil to 66 degrees Celsius! Meanwhile the propagator was cold. For about 12 weeks use I think this is ridiculously expensive. It is not robust and cannot be recommended.With regard to 'sheerness' I was not impressed by it, whatever it means with regard to this bit of kit!

The only fault i have with this product is the instruction guide. I am a retired electrician and i found the guide could have been a lot simpler for the non technical. It took me about 5 minutes of setting the thermostat to find out what was required.

Took a wee while to arrive, but packaged well with clear easy to understand instructions especially for the thermostat. It works a treat! Have made my own heated potting bench for the cost of the cable, I will be making another and ordering a second. Dead chuffed!
