It does the job!
I bought this to hold my iPad 2 so that I can use it for navigation in my car.The arm that bolts to the passenger seat is very stiff so it holds the iPad very securely. Also, the mounting mechanism is spring loaded on the bottom, so you insert your tablet by pressing it against the bottom two holders while pushing the top of the tablet backward. The springs ease a bit and the tablet snaps in.While in the mount the unit can shake a bit if you hit a hard bump in the road. If you drive on really bumpy roads you may find you need to use some Velcro or something to anchor the mount to keep the vibrations down, but on your typical highway-type roads where you mostly travel at high speeds, it is very stable. This is actually my second mount system from Arkon. The first one holds my phone and the mount is much smaller than the one that comes with this system. Also, the arm is much stiffer. However, both mounts will fit on either arm, so I can remove the tablet mount and replace it with the phone mount for times when I don't need the iPad.It is nice using the iPad for nav, assuming you can orient it so the sunlight isn't on the screen.

Best mount ever!
I went through a half dozen different mounts before finding this one. Tried everything - vent mounts, windshield mounts, dash-top mounts, seatback mounts modified to latch on to the dash ...the vent mounts broke my vents, the windshield mounts kept falling off, the dash-top mount was too unsteady and difficult to reach ... they all sucked. This mount attaches easily and firmly to the seat rail. It won't detach on it's own, and it won't move around. The location is perfect for accessing from the drivers position. The neck is flexible, allowing for further adjustments so you can position it as perfectly as you like. In my car I found that it initially got in the way of the gear-shifter, but I was able to make small adjustments to get the right amount of clearance. My only complaint is that even when it's properly positioned, it is a LITTLE wobbly. If you're hoping to be able to type while driving full-speed over a road covered in potholes, you'll be disappointed. However, I try not to do any typing while driving, so this stands works great - it's more than stable enough to allow me to easily access media buttons and program icons, which is all I really need.

Great iPad Mounting Solution
Overall, a great product for the money! It looks great in my car and looks like a permanent installation. Fantastic build quality, and a very polished looking design. It was a fairly easy installation, although it was complicated by the fact that my seats bolt in horizontally instead of vertically like most seats, which meant that I had to completely remove the bolt instead of simply loosening it because the accessible area was so small. Not that big of a deal, but make sure that your passenger seat has enough room to fit this before you buy it. In smaller cars especially.Like many other reviewers noted, this mount is very stiff, which is a good thing overall. However, while it's definitely not going to shift out of position, it still has a bit of play which makes it difficult to accurately tap all but the absolute largest buttons without having to hold the iPad in place. This makes it far more dangerous to use while on the road since you can't blindly hit pause, play or next buttons on the actual device with any accuracy without having to actively look at the device (which you shouldn't be doing on the road). If you need a mount that won't move, I would suggest looking at a CD player mount, although I suspect that mounting an iPad to your head unit isn't particularly good for it.My only other complaint is that it's a bit short. I wish it extended an extra 8-12 in or so which would allow me to feed it between my passenger seat and console, adding additional stability and height. The only current solution would be to drill holes for the included stability bracket into the side of my console, which I would rather not do. I also expect that truck owners with taller seats will have a bit of a hard time with the length of this mount. However, for me, the length is quite workable given that my seats aren't that tall.Bottom line, if you can live with the bit of shakiness that is inherent with the gooseneck design, this is an excellent product at a great price!

Great Buy
I purchased this tablet holder for use in my CVPI Patrol Vehicle. Because the center console is specially made metal box for our radios, light controls, etc. there was a great place to mount this too. I own the Asus TF300TL with At&t LTE Service. I use this extensively when out patrolling. I'm able to use a GPS Program (NavFree) as well as look up information such as statutes and other information easily. As everyone else says, there is definitely a wobble to the unit. I have noticed the wobble too. However, the mount is strong enough to keep the tablet in and in place. I have been running hot to calls going very fast over some good, and not so good, roads and the tablet has never moved an inch inside the holder. To fix the bounce, your best bet is to use a u-bolt or zip tie to secure the shaft to something close to the top. This way you minimize how much of the shaft can move. No matter what the, the tablet will move a little when you touch it. I really don't think it's possible to have a flexible neck product that won't give you some kind of play. All in all, if you want a mount which works and works well, and won't break the bank, I promise you you've found the right one.
