I will echo what others have, first, and say that the instructions are worthless. I found a YouTube video (17 min) that goes step-by-step on how to put the machine together. I followed it exactly and had zero problems. The laser itself (500MW) works very well. I build a lot of military coin displays and other military-related products and so far, the laser has not had any issues. It took a little bit of research on the Google Machine to figure out how to tune the laser and make sure it's perfect, but I am very pleased with the operation of this machine. I have used it close to 20 hours (of actual use) and it has always turned out very nice. In the cases where the engraving did not turn out as planned, it was operator error. The accompanying software is more intuitive than I thought it would be. It didn't take long at all to figure it out after testing on a few pieces of scrap wood. I have not used it for anything other than wood, but the results have been very nice, so far, on oak and maple.

I've done quite a few pieces with this laser machine and I've been pretty surprised with how easy it is to use once you get used to the program and how the laser works. The customer service was great! I had a laser head go out for whatever reason and I contacted the seller and they replied to my email almost instantly and has a New laser on the way in no time.Set up was a little challenging but really following along with the video they provide is the best way to go. The only other tricky thing is knowing where your image will end up on with what your burning. The program does have a button that says test size and that will show you a square of where you image will be which can be handy but it's important to note if your image has any white space around image your burning I've noticed it will only keep the bottom and side portion and then remove the top so if you don't remove the white space in Paint or what ever photo editor it can make your image be misplaced.Really other then that a really great little laser especially for the cost. I just have an air purifier next to it and that helps a lot with the fumes. Still a little burney smelling but I'm able to stay in the same room and I don't have to open a window in the winter. During the summer I can just open a window a crack and have a fan blow the fumes out.

I have a cr-10 3d printer. So i thought this would go nice with it. I was going to use it to cut stuff but its more of an engraver. It could probably cut wood if you dont mind waiting a while. I decided to just get a CNC kit next instead. But i will say this Engraves REALLLY nicely. But use NC mode not picture mode for the engraving with the software. It converts the JPG or whatever into a block path. Its much faster.

The set up is a nightmare: The setup instructions are convoluted when made available. The website had the setup for a third of the product, and a horrible video with poor quality. This isn't something you build in just a few minutes and then you're off to building. This is a project - even install is a chore. I'm sure this thing will work great with all of the lack of safety features, but for right now, this is a pile of metal best suited for those with experience and not a new makerUpdate* Alright, this thing no longer works. A month after purchasing the product both motors died, the laser never lined up correctly, and the mother board shorted out. Thanks, Bachin, for the $230 paper weight.

** Original Review** Works perfectly for me! Produces amazing details for the price. Just be sure to watch the assembly video thoroughly and not work ahead like me and cut your timing belt too short. The company was quick to respond, and they shipped me a replacement. Overall, very happy with the product and service. ** End**1-23-19 Update: Just barely over a month of using this machine has taught me the meaning of frustration. Approximately 2 weeks into using it, the laser stopped working. The customer service people said it shouldn't be run for more than 3 hours. I was pretty sure i had stayed under that, as well as allowing at least an hour of cool down between sesions, but I could have been wrong. They did send me a replacement laser module though. With the last experience in mind, I've kept a close eye on how long it was being used. Once again, 2 weeks into using it, the laser goes out. This time all I had been doing was little 30 minute jobs etching designs on coasters.2-1-19 Customer service for the company however is excellent. They have been prompt to reply both times, and they are replacing the laser with an upgrade. We'll have to see if this holds up better than the 500MW.

Often when purchasing items similar to this you end up thinking there is no way that this can do what it says. In this case it was better than I expected. Simple online video to shows you step by step how to construct the device. Everything fit, only tools needed are a phillips screw driver and a pair of scissors, everything else was in the kit. The build itself took a couple hours. The included software was easy to install and operate. And simply it works.
