Good quality hard back travel journal, nice textured paper, take water colour well.
Great little watercolour/sketch book. Perfect for travel journaling. Nice texture, not too big for the size of the book, A6. Takes a fair amount of water without excessive buckling of the painted sheet. It is a hardback book so it is robust enough to resist bending. As a bonus, the expanding pocket in the back cover is great for receipts, or tickets of places visited etc., and the elastic band helps keep it closed and protects the works of art on the inside and can hold a pen & pencil on its side. Overall, this works very well and a pleasure to use. Also as a British customer, it is nice to be able to support a British company, Seawhite of Brighton. Good value, Quality journel and I will be buying another when my current one is full, probably an A5 version and then my question is whether to get the landscape or portrait version!

Good little travel sketch book
Great size and good quality. Classic design. Brought on a trip to Italy and held up well. Paper seems decent and held the paint well. No bleed through. Would buy again. Good value for money.

Good quality watercolour sketchbook.
Well made, good watercolour paper. I like to do quick watercolour sketches or line and wash when I’m hiking or travelling so I only need a pocket-sized painting journal so A6 is an ideal size. My art isn’t brilliant but I find taking some time to observe a scene and capture it enhances my memories of the trip later on. I also write little notes about the colours, how I’m feeling, etc which helps me create larger versions when I’m home. The paper has enough weight to avoid cockling with fairly wet washes. Texture is Not. There’s a handy slip pocket at the rear for receipts, tickets and the like. In summary a very nice pocket watercolour sketch book that’s fun to paint on.

Excellent travel sketch book
Nice quality watercolour paper. Not 100% cotton but is nice to paint on and works great as a sketch book. I am very happy with it for my travel sketch book.

Great for quick sketches and paintings
This is a lovely size and you almost feel like an artist more because of it's moleskin-like vibe. The paper is nice and substantial, it lays pretty flat and has a nice texture to it. I would just say it is a bit pricey for what it is, so I think that is what loses it a star.

I love to take these sketchbooks when i travel - they stand up pretty well to watercolour, are great value for money and made in UK. What's not to like

Perfect mini sketchbook
Just the perfect size for someone like me who just started to sketch and dabble with watercolours; and don’t have much time for long detailed projects. I bring it anywhere and working on it doesn’t bring any attention. Doesn’t buckle much under a lot of water, and 60 pages so more bang for the buck. My daughter and I love our little sketchbook. It’s very good quality that I bought an A5 as well to use for travel.

I like the paper in this watercolor travel journal. I've been comparing several books and papers: My older Moleskin watercolor journal (don't know how they are today); Pentalic Art Watercolor Journal; Stillman & Birn Gamma Softcover; Pentalic Wirebound Watercolor Fieldbook; Hahnemuhle Watercolor Book; Indigo Artpapers Watercolor Wiropad (100% cotton); Strathmore 500 Series Mixed Media Softcover (100% cotton); Fabriano Artistico Ex.White "Enhanced" Rough Block (100% cotton) (awful texture, will never buy again, don't recommend); Fabriano Artistico Ex.White Rough Block (100% cotton) Arches 140 cold press and rough press pads (100% cotton); Arches 90 lb rough press paper (100% cotton). The Seawhite, to me, is near top of the "not-cotton" papers. It can stay wet long-enough for charging, yet not puddle in a wet stroke. Can do a nice dry brush with it's moderate texture. Glazes well. Seems to lift nicely. It has good whiteness and gives good clarity. Granulating pigments dry with granulation! :) The book is well-constructed, with a pocket in the back, a ribbon marker, and a nice elastic closure. If you've got to go with something that's not 100% cotton, I'd recommend trying this.

The description here is deceitful. You get a book with 30 pages of watercolor bond. The paper's thickness is fine white watercolor bond with a slight surface (medium cold press) BUT it's not 60 pages of it. They need to be more clear about the description. I would've ordered a different watercolor sketch book.

I adore these sketchbooks. The paper is very nice quality and a joy to paint on. I have used very heavy washes in them and the paper holds up very well. I prefer portrait orientation, which is not available in their watercolor line, but the small landscape book is close to square and I do enjoy it as well. The elastic closure is always a plus for me and this one is of good quality and holding it's elasticity very well. I have been very happy with these sketchbooks by Seawhite of Brighton. I do hope they come out with a portrait option as well.
