Excellent and beautiful set
The set is beautiful. The pictures wonderful. The stories riveting. My wee boy is six years old and we have ploughed through five books at an average of around a book every 2-3 days (they are about 120 pages each). He cannot get enough of them. Highly recommend!!

Lying Deception and Secret Keeping - Calling each other idiots
I am writing the review I wish I had seen before buying this set and other Enid Blyton books for my voracious reader 9 year old. While the writing style itself is far better than the average children's chapter books written in the 21st Century, the language used and the messages sent are damaging to the development of children's morality. The word "idiot" is often used by the siblings. "Sucks to you" is another mocking phrase used in these books for children... I now know where the current iteration of this heinous phrase originated from (and that has entered the American vernacular). In the first book in this series one of the main characters sneaks out of his aunts home multiple times with no consequences. Terrible morals are celebrated. Lying and deceiving and secret keeping is celebrated. If you value the formation of your child's soul for God's glory, then please skip these books. They may have been written during a better time in our world but that doesn't mean that time didn't also have its problems of lack of wholesomeness.
