Cleto Reyes Extra Padding Leather Training Gloves - Black

I need some new gloves after going through the velcro crap with Everlast gloves. I am amateur boxer and training to fight in the Goldent Gloves in like a month so I need some great gloves for training and sparring. These gloves are best for both sparring and training.For the sparring piece the extra padding is so helpful for my protection and my sparring partner. I would say make sure to talk with your sparring partner to see if you need to lower your power as it is hard to tell if you hitting them to hard. For training, these gloves are the best gloves I have ever used. Knuckle protection is great, wrist support is outstanding and the gloves fit great. I will tell you you will have to work these gloves in hard. I am going into my 3 day of heavy bag work (12+ rounds daily) and these gloves are still getting broke into and now really broken in yet.Also, the thumb positioning does take some time to get used too as it is my first time in this thumb pattern. This will take time to get used to as well. But, overall it is a significant upgrade from my prior gloves and I will be keeping these a long time. So, if you looking for some great sparring/training gloves with great wrist protection, knuckle padding, and top of line then these are the gloves for you.

After using about 6 month, the strong smell of leather disappeared and it becomes very fit and comfortable. I really loved it.As to make one request to the product seller, as soon as receiving the gloves, I cut off the leather strap which held thumb and palm, since there was no instruction on what that strings for, and I thought it was unnecessary. As result, it became really uncomfortable to use, but luckily I cut only right hand side. That strap acts quite important role to hold thumb comfortably. By the way, after quite a bit of time of wearing, it seems not much bothering anymore.I did hope if there was a instruction to explain about what it does, I should had never cut it off.

I really like these gloves so far but I will say some of the previous comments may be correct. I'll have to remember to come back later and update my review. I have large hands and I saw that people with larger hands may have an issue. One glove fits fine where the other is probably just a hair too small but it hasn't affected anything yet as far as its use. The other issue is the elastic strap that is inside the cuff is pretty tight. When just putting my hand in the glove it's fine but when I put on a wrap it makes it very difficult to get past that elastic due to the wrap catching on it and since you already have one glove on I have to ask for assistance to get the elastic pulled up so I can get past it with my hand. I haven't used the gloves enough yet to say they are broken so this may be the issue. The padding on them are excellent and protect my hands well. They have awesome wrist support which I really like also. Overall I like the gloves and hope the break in period will help out.

Definitely takes some getting used to. My hands kept going numb the first day I used them but by the last round I could feel them start to take the shape of my hands. The padding feels great and the leather is top quality. If you're new to combat sports or have just used cheap gloves these will take time to get accustomed to but are really worth it.

This is a big step up for me since the last pair is the Everlast Pro Style that cost about 40$. This one feel great when i do power punch. So far my wrist and knuckle dont feel hurt or sore after a good training day. Highly recommend

Love these gloves, great quality and stitching and well worth it. It's a bit stiff at first but you can tell the quality of the crafting on them. It takes about a month to get broken in. I got the 16 oz extra padding and even with that I can hear the popping sound when I land a punch correctly on the heavy bag. They fit snug and should last a long time.

Great quality gloves. A little tight at first but just break them in by using without wraps a few times during moderate heavy bag training.

Well, I have to say it is a different experience all in all from my initial expectation...I waited for 5 months until I'm fully through with the gloves.the leather is amazing, the quality of stitching is superb.. however, the overall feel and comfort level is kind of low. thy engineered it to be a tight fit to your hands ( hence.. puncher gloves), but, it is too tight , especially in the fingers curve area. you need an extra squeezing effort to make the perfect fist.. and you feel your fingers numb in a couple of rounds of usage. the padding is not really extra ( what ever that means ).. but it is enough for a good impact absorption. I liked the wrist cuff design as I felt it gives a good wrist protection compared to other gloves.It is a high end glove,with good material and manufacturing quality... but if you are already in this level and willing to pay that much, I recommend going to Winning Gloves as it seems a much better product at this usage rate.

Amazing blackberry shade of purple...so gorgeous in person! These were my first gloves and the brand was encouraged by my trainer. I have not been disappointed!

Amazing padding... it does not split or open up in the knuckles where impact happens, unlike Everlast gloves.

inner glove size does not match 14 oz !!!gloves are small

These gloves are four ounces heavier than the tag says.I bought 16s before this and they were 2-3oz heavier so I figured I d get the 12s and they would 14s but nope the 12s are...

I have owned 4 pairs of gloves, these are by far the best. I got the extra padding for sparring, so as not to injure my partner. The smell is fantastic, leather is soft, supple.

Great quality, enjoy working out with these on! Takes a bit while getting used to but after that you could rock while training!
