Excellent jacket for the price
This jacket is perfect whether you are someone who in is law enforcement, a civilian who does a lot of shooting or just someone looking for a good multi purpose jacket. I have worn this jacket almost daily for about 2 weeks and I have found that it works extremely well in all the weather that I have encountered so far, all you have to do is adjust what you are wearing underneath appropriately. I have worn it in snow, 30mph wind and temps that are down into the teens. A light fleece or sweatshirt is all that is needed for most weather conditions. The jacket traps in you body heat and does a good job at blocking the wind and outside cold. I have even worn it with just a t-shirt underneath and have been comfortable outside for short periods of time at around 25 degrees. The pockets are great, as someone who served in the US Army, I love the pockets on the arms and the light weight of this jacket. The pockets on the front are deffinitley different, but not at all un useable. I still put my hands in them from time to time, but they offer great access if you are wearing body armor or a chest rig. The collar is also not an issue. I have no problems getting it to lay down when I want it to or stand up to block the wind. I haven't used the hood yet. If I had to list one complaint, it would be the double zipper. I have had two times where the zipper unzipped from the bottom when I was trying to zip up. This could be my fault, but I have had the same issue with all double zippers that I have had in the past, so I can not say that this is a construction issue. Also it can sometimes be difficult to get the zipper hooked together so you can zip up the jacket, but again, this is an issue I have had with all double zippers. I would recomment getting a size up from what you normally would. I usually get an XL at 5'7" 230 lbs, but after reading some reviews I got an XXL and it fits prefect. The arms are a little long, but not an issue. The velcro and zippers seem to be high quality. All in all I have to say that I love this jacket and would recomment it to any of my friends. You just can't beat it for the price!

Great Jacket
These jackets have been in daily duty use for about 3 months now, with no issue. These jackets are being used by Paramedics at a Full time 24/7 ALS EMS Service and have surpassed my expectations. They are actually warmer than what they state in colder weather, yesterday it was a morning low of 10 Degrees F and it was plenty warm with limited exposure of 30 or so minutes, it says “40F” and above but if you’re wearing base layers I think it would make an ok limited exposure winter jacket(hour or less). With the pit zips and breathability it’s plenty cool when needed without removal which is difficult at times with gear and the pace of some calls. It’s a great duty jacket you can remove your patches as well and it’s nice enough to wear around while off duty. You can stow the patches in the pockets and be able to go overt if need be for a response. AS a paramedic I have found it very difficult to find something that really “works” for a medic, most jackets are too bulky/hot, and others are too light/cold. This is a perfect measure of both. With a base layer staying butted up then when I get in back with the heat on, open it up and drop the pit zips and it’s a comfortable ride. Clean up very well, blood, dirt, stains it does really well at not picking things up in the first place. More of an athletic type fit, nice drop tail, and front is plenty long enough, but then I’m only 5’8, im more of a stocky build and its not too tight, it took a bit to get use to the fit I really like it now. I have gotten 4 or 5 compliments from the general public on how nice they look. Chest pockets could be lower but i understand why they are placed where they are, for body armor, they function great with many dividers and storage options. Hood stowed in the collar seems a tad bulky, but the collar still lays flat when folder so i can live with it, i would prefer it zips off and just remove it but it does not. Worth EVERY penny. I tested it for a month myself then order about 10 more.. Does everything it says it can do and better. ...and I've been doing this a while EMS Director...

Hard to beat the quality!
Great jacket! Love the quality of the Condor line. Lots of pockets, inside and out. Great water repelancy, and a great fit. I'm 6' 1" 220# and went with the XL. I agree with previous reviews, size up if you're looking for more of a "relaxed" fit... I'll definitely be shopping more from the Condor store on Amazon!

This is the second Condor Summit I've purchased, the first being in 2009 when they first came out. I'd worn it in Fall, Winter and Spring pretty much all the time since I bought it, and it's served me well and help up well over time. I see this new version has a few updates, but overall the layout and construction is the same. Unlike other softshells (TAD, ORC, ECWCS L5, etc) the Condor offering is a lot bulkier and heavier, but it does have a built-in lining (warm-ish, okay for fall / spring) making it a good choice for cooler weather. With the addition of a fleece liner (ECWCS L3 or equivalent civilian fleece jacket) it works quite well in winter weather in all but the coldest conditions. Note that the sizing runs a bit small, especially if you want to use it on conjunction with a liner: I wear issue Medium and have to use a Large to get a similar fit from the Condor Summit -- that is to say a very loose fit which can accomodate thicker clothing and/or a liner underneath. If you want a more alpine fit, get it in your regular size, but you may be limiting the range of temperatures you can wear it in. Also of not, unlike the ECWCS softshell, water does not bead up and roll off the SharkSkin fabric but rather appears to soak into it -- meaning your softshell will look soaking wet in the rain. And indeed, water does appear to soak into it, however I've never had it permeate through to the inside even in fairly heavy rain, except for an occasional few drops near zippers and such, but I've had that happen with all softshells (get a hardshell if you want to stay perfectly dry). The jacket is also fairly breathable, and it has vent zipper under the armpits and in the lower back (which has a mesh lining and doubles as a soft of pocket), but bear in mind is does have a liner so it does get hot in warmer weather, especially if you're doing a lot of physical activity. All in all its a great value for the price and after nearly 10 years of service, and despite owning several other softshells, I replaced my old Summit with a new Summit. In cold weather it's really the best. My only disappointment came when I learned that Condor had discontinued the Foliage Green colour -- with no plan to bring it back, they told me. Sure, OD is close, but FG was just really nice.

Good quality jacket, excellent price. The real story here. Their was a slight issue (not seller or buyer fault) customer service from Xtronics was the best service I ever had with an online transaction. Amazing
