This is one of those products you find and actually look forward to arriving so you can try it out. I have bought several ashtrays in the past that were similar, and while they worked fine, they always had random writing, branding, or logos on them that did not make much sense. I went with the black ones, and they are a single solid color with no branding or logo at all, which gives them a much cleaner and sharper look. So, we have this neighbor, fantastic guy, like 120-yrs-old, but incredibly interesting, and full of stories from his long life. He kinda makes the rounds between our house and a few other in the neighborhood in nice weather. You can always tell when he's coming by the faintly cherry-smelling cloud of cigar smoke that wafts in a constant cloud around him. Anyway, I got these specifically for his use when he comes to entertain us on the deck for a couple hours. I think he might be pleased to see them. There's no smoking in our house, so I was glad to see these are made specifically for outside use. And it seems like the manufacturer took everything into consideration for the design. It's silicone, so the color won't fade, and it'll take years for the weather to affect the integrity of the material. Dishwasher-safe, which is always a win for me. They're a good practical size, not huge and obtrusive but big enough to share if there's more than one cigar in the mix. They've got a nice heft, so they won't blow away on a windy day. The molding is great, all straight lines and smooth edges. I'm going to assume the indentations are a good size for most cigars until my neighbor says differently, because they look kinda perfect to me. They're nicely made, look sleek and classy, and under $10 is a great price for a set of two. I think these are a good buy, and they'll last for years.

Don't be turned off my my images of dirty ashtrays, these clean up very easily. I don't think they are ideal for cigarettes, but absolutely PERFECT for cigars. Many of my freinds smoke during gatherings on my patio, these are fantastic. They work for cigarettes, but the holders are designed for cigars. They come in a set of two, which is a great value. They are made of silicone and are virtually indestructible. They have a nice weight even though they aren't heavy, so the wind doesn't blow them around outside. But since they are shallow, cigarette ashes do blow around a bit... you'll want to make sure you empty them frequently. Would I buy them again? Not likely because I don't have any cigar friends, but if they offered the same design with smaller holders for cigarettes, yes!
