Vigorous Mountains Premium Grade Dried Porcini Mushrooms Boletus Edulis 1 Ounce (Extra A)

OK 4 stars - not the best result yet, tried to make a mushroom pappardelle, and these porcini mushroom's added to the blend of mushrooms where the key part. It wasn't bad but somehow struggled to get it sufficiently up to taste. It possibly had to do with the fact that I used it with too much pasta. Next time I'll also try to add some mushroom stock as well.So the jar of porcini's looked promising. Its very well packed and presented; vacuum sealed and you'll get a copious amount. Leaving them to soak boiled water for 30 minutes will get you in the mood - don't forget to the reserve the soaking liquid for later on.It's the first time I ordered these porcini mushrooms and processed them. I'll try a few times more. For now I'll give the mushrooms the benefit of the doubt. It looks like a proper product. So the slight lack of taste might have been my ineptitude.

Dried mushrooms are a great standby, you never need run out. They come in a plastic jar with screw top lid which is good as you can use how much mushroom you require and know that the rest will stay fine in the jar. Just soak them in water, drain and dry and hey presto you're ready to go.

These mushrooms were perfect for my Turkey wellington. The size of the container was just right. I've had to buy bigger sizes before and had to throw some away.
