Easy to use, love it!
Great for steaming just about anything! I've used it to steam fish, dumplings and vegetables. All came out great. Made well and very easy to use.

Easy to use but could be deeper
I bought this, because I have been cooking corn in the microwave by getting it wet and wrapping it in waxed paper. I was very attracted to this so I could stop wasting so much waxed paper! Smaller ears of corn work, but anything of size is just too big for the top to fit down onto the bottom. I have also tried steaming asparagus, and that was really easy to. It comes with a little recipe card to help you time things more accurately the first time; I appreciate that.I'd recommend this - just be aware that if your main goal is to cook corn, this might fall short in depth (hence the reason for 4 stars).

Works great: yummy results
I have a smaller steamer that's the same brand as this one with the same mix of colors, and I love it -- except for one thing. I wanted a steamer that would deliver the same results but give me more room for veggies. This is the perfect solution. It's every bit as good as the smaller steamer I've been using for years, but big enough to fit my appetite. My vegetarian dinner is done in six minutes.

LOVE this!
I've been cooking fish in the microwave for awhile now, using a Corelle plate with and little water and clear wrap to seal the plate, but it got too dry. Tried this unit and all I can say is wow what a difference, specifically, the fish remained moist. 3 minutes and let it rest a minute or two. I love min.

Works ok, not long term tho. Trouble with lid.
Bought this for my husband who has high cholesterol and high blood pressure so sometimes can’t eat the main meal I cook. He has to eat more fish and chicken. I thought this would be a quick way to make him some healthy dishes without making too much dishes. I have a tfal steamer that I love but cleaning it takes more time than this.. so I thought.Quality looks decent, except after about 8-10 uses the lid no longer snaps on good I have to continuously shift the lid around to go on!Steaming wise depends what I make.... fish is a lot quicker. Chicken takes longer and sometimes doesn’t steam evenly, so I put it in more and it’ll dry in the center.... veggies steam quick and evenly!Cleaning the green tray can somewhat be a pain depending what you make. Scrubbing each individual holes making sure nothing gets left bevy is similar to my bigger T-fal steamer. So I might as well use my bigger steamer with levelsAnyway in all this is ok, the lid tho is a big problem if I have to shift and push hard for it to snap close.I would say this is not a long term steamer.

Great buy
We have had an earlier model of the Progressive steamer. We have used it to almost finishing it off. We got this one because we did so much in it and needed a second one for many item meals. Fantastic for leftovers. Makes fish very well. Spray with some olive oil and apply Mrs. Dash Lemon Pepper or the Chicken Grill for quick and tasty fish. Since I am on a low sodium lifestyle leftovers made right the first time are ready for a quick lunch. Again spray with a little oil Research has shown that steaming is the second best way to preserve food nutrients. (Pressure-cooking is best.) All kinds of vegetables (for my "FODMAP" diet) are prepared without salt (heart healthy and add potassium chloride and/or Mrs. Dash seasonings after cooking to enhance flavors). All kinds of other foods become good leftovers with the steamer. Meats, rice, noodles, etc. I also thaw buns stored in the freezer when needed. May years ago I managed a summer swimming pool food service and we used steamers to keep our hotdog and hamburger buns fresh and ready. This steamer duplicates those steamers perfectly. It works for bread too. Just steam a few seconds or they get soggy. Steam for five seconds to thaw,, then open the buns open side down and turn over bread slices for about five seconds more. The supplied chart tells times for raw vegetables, but experiment at first to learn your microwave functioning. Follow the guide for making fish. Ren=member that thickness affects cooking time.
