u'Select manual pepper mill in natural wood, 18 cm

After searching for "Best Pepper Mills" online, this came up as #1 on multiple sites and reviews. Reputation earned in my opinion. It is classy, easy to fill and easy to select the coarseness. There is also a discernable difference in the grinds, unlike some of the cheaper glass ones I had been using - that break due to the plastic in them It is effortless to grind and consistently grinds easily and thouroughly. If you are a fresh cracked pepper fan, consider this - yes its more expensive than those $10 ones you see all over, but this one won't let you down - its a lifetime investment and worth more than they charge.

Years ago, a dear person gave me the gift of a pepper mill. It is the product of a well-known supplier of spices and related merchandise; one who chooses to post political partisan charged rants as part of their website shopping experience. I am subjected to enough politics these days. I don't want them dragged into my kitchen! Additionally, their pepper mill is a piece of junk. Frequently, I had to use a hammer to pound part of the grinding mechanism back into the lid to get it to work. I kept it only out of sentimentality surrounding who gave it to me. ENOUGH is ENOUGH! I chose this Peugeot because of online reviews. It works like a dream! It secures its parts in place! I also appreciate the esthetics of it's light color, as well as its "gold Peugeot" finial, a departure from the usual silver. It adds a touch of elegance to my kitchen. (Hey, look for enjoyment in the details of the little things in life!)

This u'Select Pepper Mill holds the grind setting and gives a very consistent grind each time I reach for it. I purchased this to replace a pepper mill that broke. A plastic component failed. But the replacement had the problem of changing the grind with each twist of the grinder mechanism (which the poor broken model also had prior to it breaking). I was constantly having to tighten the adjustment knob. This Peugeot unit holds the setting I select and is easy to select the same grinds from use to use. I have already refilled this item twice. It has proven to be a very good unit and super easy to use.

This brand has been around for a very long time for a very good reason. Works perfectly and is easily adjustable.

Had this grinder a little over 4 years and the mechanism has completely stopped performing on any setting. Pepper had not been flowing too freely from this for quite a while prior to complete breakdown but since it has such a great reputation I thought it might be something I was doing-not at all. Had to jump through hoops to place a request for warranty service and now I am waiting to see what they propose to do about it. So strange that this is so highly rated in general, but certainly not on Amazon as per all the one star reviews. Update: Peugeot took three weeks to respond to my initial claim and handled it by requesting a photo of the product I use in my mill! (along with ten other helpful hints as to what I might have been doing incorrectly). They followed that request, to which I responded, with another request asking me (if you can believe this) what millimeters in size my peppercorns were-some are evidently too large to suit their grinders. Their persistence and creativity in attempting to evade honoring their warranty deserves a prize-a booby prize. I wrote them back and sent a photo of some peppercorns purchased in the past. I can only hope they will not dare to ask me anything else prior to sending me a replacement, but if they do, at this point I do not care as my sense is that this mill is non-functioning or poor-functioning and life is too short to own it anyway. Shame on Peugeot.

Works well, good looking, seems to be well built. Only issue we have had is that it does not like larger (e.g. Tellicherry) peppercorns. When grinding those peppercorns, it seems that it doesnt feed well and so little pepper comes out when you grind. More normal size peppercorns work great though.

I've been looking for a good pepper mill for several years; many stores did not permit actual testing, and the mill I got from a well-known spice store was incapable of providing a nice fine grind that we like day-to-day. Gourmet-cracked is nice for cooking beef, but not that hot for eating pasta. When I recently started a new search, I noticed that many "Top N" lists mentioned the u-Select even when they omitted it from their official list. I figured if this is the one to beat, it's the one to bet on. We weren't disappointed: its second-to-finest grind is plenty fine enough for daily enjoyment. The finest grind is almost like talc, but its output volume is understandably low. Coarse grinds (in fact, all settings) are easily reproducible due to the control being on the bottom, with the burrs. This is going on my list of easy-to-choose presents for loved ones in the future. I'm not sure I can provide a higher recommendation.

This is the best peppermill! It grinds well and is easy to refill.

Others imitate this, glad we have the real thing.

Franchement, je ne pensais pas qu’un simple moulin à poivre pouvait faire autant la différence. Depuis que j’ai le Peugeot, je redécouvre mes plats ! Le mécanisme est hyper fluide, ça ne bloque jamais, et surtout la mouture est régulière. On sent vraiment que le poivre est mis en valeur, les arômes ressortent beaucoup mieux. Ce que j’aime particulièrement : - Il tient bien en main, solide mais agréable à utiliser. - Le réglage de la mouture est précis, je peux passer d’un poivre très fin à des grains plus gros selon mes envies. - Et puis, il est beau. Posé sur la table, il a ce petit côté élégant qui fait son effet.

Es un lujo tener para casa un molinillo Peugeot y con el tamaño correcto para el uso domestico, graduación del molido, fácil de usar sin hacer fuerza, lo único es que para rellenarlo cuesta un poquito porque hay poca abertura, por lo demás de lujo.
