A new symbolic system for meditation
If you are a follower of the Clairvision School of Meditation - laudable for its clarity-of-mind with respect to the esoteric approach to enlightenment - this book will help fill in the blanks of much of the material they speak of in their books short of ordering one of their courses. However, given the use of the Zodiac system as the root of their symbology, some may be turned off by this book for being too cryptic. But this is just a matter of vocabulary, not a matter of non-concise thought. If you are able to adapt to the use of these metaphors then you are rewarded handsomely with a new way of interpreting the world, through archetypal forces. It will feed into your meditation practice, guiding your efforts to the part of mind-space you wish to be in and enhance.I would recommend getting "Awakening the Third Eye" before this book, though; or at least read the lexicon material on the Clairvision website. This book otherwise loses its value as a way of filling in the blanks if you don't have a big idea of what the school is trying to achieve.

Great book but hard to get
What a great book! Sagan is able to bring many spiritual ideas together in a comprehensive but reader friendly book. He covers the planets and their archetypes, effect on the body, diseases and remedies. Sagan consistently brings together Chinese, Anthroposophical and many other sources.Unfortunately, the paperback is $30 on the clairvision website but $100 by other outlets. It is a fair price for a brilliant and useful book. Sagan has passed away sadly, and it might be a good idea to make this book available for a reasonable paperback price so it can reach a larger audience. Unfortunately, for a movement that talks so much about technology, the clarivision website looks almost soviet in its antiquity. His followers and co-researchers seem so ungrounded. Try communicating with the organization!!!! This is probably why the book is currently unavailable on Amazon.

A good start
One of the few texts that competently BEGINS the process of integrating western esotericism with eastern healing arts (TCM). I say, advisedly, beginning because the full process of integration is monumental and will likely take hundreds of years. Sagan gives us a good start.

Astrology plus! A great read.
This book is an absolute wealth of information about our planets and their deep intrinsic influences on us and the foods and herbs we eat, and basically our planet Earth.I continue to reference it as a manual for self-healing and to better understand my own temperement and astrology chart...it puts the zodiac in perspective and places greater emphasis on the planets themselves as the greater influences on our psyche....
