This works great on USB 3.0
I would say the first thing out of the box is only use this for USB 3.0. I have tried it on 2.0 and it either does not work or has a lag time in between movement and what is shown in the screen. I guess there is not enough speed for a usb 2.0 to handle. The cable is short and really only meant for laptops in my opinion since many laptops nowadays only have USB 3.0 or HDMI/Display port. That being said, this works great for if you are trying to hook this up to say an older monitor or even a new TV. It also allowed me to have an extra display for my gaming laptop that only has 1 HDMI port that I can use to plug this laptop into. The cable itself is pretty sturdy so you do not have to worry too much about the neck getting frayed. You can easily bend and store if needed. The VGA female does not have the screws on the side so you are unable to attach the VGA securing screws on the left and right side but it does not effect performance. I would say it works great up to 1080P and i do not see any heating issues from what I can tell. Be aware this still relays on the ability of the onboard graphics so if you have an older PC that does not support 1080p it will just down grade to whatever it needs to be. It does not require any external power and is pretty light weight so you can put it say in your laptop bag. Another thing I would say about this product is that the picture quality is good and there is no lag when you use USB 3.0/3.1. No drivers are need from what I can tell to get this to work as it will auto install via windows 7,8,10. Overall I think this is a great product to have if you are looking for a decent expansion for your laptop or even desktop.

Simple way to connect your laptop to a tv/monitor
I was looking for a way to connect a laptop without HDMI port to my TV. This usb adapter does the trick. It was a relatively quick setup and it worked for me. The adapter has a nice brushed metal finish and seems sturdy enough to last a while. The only negative i have is the driver install. Its not totally plug and play. When you plug in the adapter, a folder pops up with 2 folders. One folder is for mac, and the other is for windows. I Installed the windows driver, restarted laptop, then it was plug and play. Total time was maybe 5 minutes, so its not a deal breaker. But there is an additional step involved. However, i would still recommend this adapter for anyone that only has USB ports on their laptop and want to connect to a TV or monitor.

Good product, great customer service
Based on my experience of purchasing this item, product and the seller get a solid 5 stars from me. When I first received the adaptor, it did not work. This later turned out was because my usb cable was perhaps faulty. The seller was quick to send me another adaptor. The seller is available for assistance with quick turnarund. Before I tried the second adaptor I got a new usb cable extender for my laptop and the hdmi display worked without a glitch. The product looks well made and the seller eager to work with you to make your project a success.I have some suggestions-1. Make sure your usb cables are consistent. As i later found out usb adapters and cables are not standard, so cable incompatibily can be an issue. I don't think this is an issue with the adaptor per se.2. Read the instructions before attempting to use the adaptor. If the adaptor doesn't show the installation file upon connection, driver can be conveniently downloaded from the website provided.3. Reach out to the seller if you need further assistance. They are very helpful.

Flickers and doesn't supply high quality video output
I have a 3 monitor setup.. .(The whole point of this anyway). I got this and was looking at a high res website. I noticed on the monitor that this device supplied video output to, the display quality was visibly poor. I changed the monitor setup to identify the problem and the poor display carried along to any monitor I plugged this into.Another issue I noticed is that it would randomly flicker on and off, very quick sometimes and other times, it could take up to a second. I am in no way putting any pressure on the (short) cable and i barely move this thing around so this is not about the cable. In the long run, it does work if you are just looking for something to display output for excel or word etc.. but if you are into graphics and you are very concerned about making sure WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get), then you should think twice. No offense to these guys, good stuff, but it's not really cutting it for me anymore

Excellent product if you read description and know what you're buying.
Many people complain that this shows the same screen on both HDMI and VGA. That is by design. Both ports are not intended to be used at once. It's just to give you the option to connect to older monitors/projectors. Many corporate meeting rooms only provide VGA for projector connections, even if the projector is capable of HDMI simply because of the cost of running HDMI through all the walls. VGA still works for most businesses and there is no business case to upgrade wiring. Some people complain that this requires drivers. Indeed it does because it is not DisplayLink technology. It never claimed to be. People need to read the description.

Decent adapter for the price
For the price, I can't complain. Does what it should, allows me to use 3 external monitors and my laptop screen(was previously limited to 2 plus my laptop, or just 3 externals). Occasionally the screen will go black for a second, seems to be a recurring issue, but it doesn't bother me so I only took one start for that. Otherwise video quality is awesome when plugged into USB 3 you cant tell its not a direct HDMI connection. Would buy another. in fact, I may try another to have 4 external screens :P Can never have enough screen space lol
