Vintage anyone?
Wanted to show my daughter the old skool way of listening to music. Just had to play her favorite song from my phone and record it on her “vintage” tape player. Functions the way they used to. Perfect as always.

Decided to resurrect cassette tape drive.
Decided to pull my tape drive out of storage and give it a try. Had to but a new tape and quite frankly I was amazed at how great it sounded. In the old days I used metal tapes but today they're seriously expensive, this Low Noise take performed beautifully. I recorded a CD and played it back, couldn't tell the CD from the Tape.

Maxell 108510 Normal Bias-Ur Cassette Tapes: Basic, Reliable, and Budget-Friendly
The Maxell 108510 Normal Bias-Ur Cassette Tapes in smoke offer a straightforward and budget-friendly solution for those seeking reliable audio recording in a traditional cassette format. The smoke-colored casing adds a touch of aesthetic appeal, distinguishing these tapes from standard clear ones. While the visual aspect is a minor detail, it can add a bit of character for those who appreciate a bit of style in their cassette collection. In terms of performance, these Normal Bias-Ur tapes serve their purpose adequately. They are suitable for everyday audio recording needs, making them a practical choice for those who enjoy the nostalgia of cassette recording or have devices that support this format. The recording quality is in line with standard normal bias tapes, providing decent audio reproduction for voice recordings, music mixes, or other casual uses. However, users seeking the highest audio fidelity may want to explore other formats or higher-grade cassette tapes. Durability is reasonable for the price point, but as with most cassette tapes, care should be taken to handle them gently to prevent any damage to the tape or housing. One potential drawback is that these tapes may not be suitable for critical audio applications or professional recordings. The limitations of normal bias tapes, including lower dynamic range and increased susceptibility to noise, might impact the overall audio quality for audiophiles or professional users. In conclusion, the Maxell 108510 Normal Bias-Ur Cassette Tapes in smoke provide a budget-friendly option for basic audio recording needs. Their reliability and simplicity make them suitable for casual users who enjoy the analog charm of cassette tapes. While they may not deliver audiophile-grade sound, they offer a practical and accessible solution for those looking to embrace the nostalgia of cassette recording without breaking the bank.

80's called
Works as described. That's not saying much though. There's a reason why people like CD better. Unless you have an older car without a CD Player.

I'm quite impressed - for a cheap Type-1 (Fe) tape, it's a very good one. It sounds good, no issues with recording up +3dB. The only thing that I don't t like about these tapes is that the cassette shell gets a bit noisy when fast-forwarding or rewinding, I don't remember noticing this with older Maxells. Does not look like a fake (if it is, it's a good one). Not sure whether it's a new "old" stock or someone is placing Maxell labels onto some new tapes, but I can recommend this one. It's a very good deal, especially for this price.

Useless. Tape slips in motion. Does not record. Sheer waste of money.
