Rod has clearly been stepped on or something. It's broken in the middle. Hoping for a replacement.

Feels pretty good , if I could go back in time I’d buy these cheaper st croix rods instead of my expensive ones lol . Packaging is pretty good , this is my second rod from them in two weeks both were packaged well . I don’t know why other people seem to have problems…

I purchased this rod as a replacement for a rod I had that snapped about 8" from the top. I took it on a fishing trip to let my adult son use it, but the replaced rod snapped near the same spot as the first rod after just a few uses. St. Croix seems to sacrifice rod strength to allow a better feel, but what good is the rod if it breaks so easily? St. Croix will give me money toward a replacement, but then will charge a $60 warranty processing fee. UPDATE - Actually had to return TWO rods for the exact same break. I sound like I treat my rods terribly, but I don't. I have paid to have both rods replaced and to date, St. Croix has replaced only one. They keep promising the second replacement but have not followed through. Very disappointed in not only the lack of quality of the rods, but extremely disappointed in the lack of reliable customer support. Come on, St. Croix Rods - you can do better!
