My Apple MacBook Pro is from 2014 so you know that’s a dinosaur in today’s age.Apple stores have weird hours and schedules due to all this covid nonsense. I decided to roll up my sleeves and do it myself.Came with easy to follow instructions but they have very good instructional videos.Took about an hour or so to installMy only gripe is the battery has some space between it and bottom cover. When I would set it down, I could hear it drop slightly.I opened it back up and put a post it note as a spacer and it doesn’t do it anymore.Battery lasts like 6 to 7 hours now. Like the good ol days 👨🏾‍💻

Product arrived quickly. They provide all the tools you need, and some you probably won't. Detailed instructions (with pictures). Not an easy installation, in that it takes careful time (and takes awhile to do - took me at least 90 minutes), but the instructions are very clear.Can't say yet how long the lifespan of the batteries are, but so far it will run for at least six hours continuous. I would highly recommend. A little more expensive than other brands, but this one is distributed in the US and provides far more tools. Much, much cheaper than going to an Apple store.

Charge seems to be holding well for many hours of video playback and general usage but ever since this new battery was installed, I started getting 'Service Recommended' warning for it. Earlier when I saw that, it was due to a battery that was already performing bad but in this case it seems to work pretty well. Well, in any case, I will update this review if anything changes.

The product is well worth it. My computer is running like brand new. Before the battery replacement i could have it unplugged for 30 seconds before it shut off. The kit its self is easy, getting the old battery out is a little tricky but just take your time and you'll get it.

I appreciate someone showing us the way to repair good equipment that is often thought of as obsolete yet can still serve well for a number of years if the needed hardware changes can be managed in a way that is economical. This kit for replacing a battery in an older Mac Book Pro not only provides the central item - the battery - but includes helpful support and even tools for completing the work which has been primarily done by Apple technicians!
