Spin Around
My 2yo son got this for Christmas. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten him to SIT and spin ... he wants to STAND and spin! An accident waiting to happen ... BUT ... he LOVES the music and plays it often, dancing joyfully to each song ... with a "YEE HAW" before the "country" style song. I am hopeful that he will eventually decide to SIT and spin as I have shown him ... once he does, I know he will love it ... as he LOVES to "SPIN AROUND!"

So disappointed.
When my children were small they would spend hours going round and round on their Sit n Spin. I have wanted to buy one for my grandchildren for about 4 years, but couldn't find one. I finally found Amazon had them and ordered one for my grandson's 2nd birthday. I couldn't wait to see him and his brothers enjoy the toy that their mother loved so much. To our disappointment the material is flimsy and cheap. The musical portion didn't work and the children couldn't even begin to spin on it. We were so disappointed. Play School had a great product, but apparently having quality products isn't important any longer. Don't waste your money. Go find a used one and enjoy. That's what we did.

sit and spin for a 4 year old
I ordered the Sit and Spin for my grandson. He loves it and so does his 2 year old sister. We did not add the batteries, as previous reviews said that the music was loud. It is a worthwhile toy for the money. I must be honest, after buying I found two at thrift shops [...] and they were both in excellent condition.

Fun but only so much
With all the other present options on Christmas, this was the least popular. My five year old and three year old still played with it but other things held their attention longer. When assembling it, my husband and I about had a heart attack. The noise that played once the batteries where in sounded like awful early eighties roller rink music. After the painful flash backs we cut the sound wires and screwed it together. We left the flashing lights working... so the boys would get some reward for their spinning effort. It is great for getting they boys to use their own muscles, so I am still happy with the purchase.

I wish they made these for adults!
My 20 month old daughter LOVES this "gift from Santa"! She sits on it and turns around just smirking at me the whole time. She plays the music, sometimes hitting the same button over and over again and even dances while spinning around on the toy. I read complaints of the music being too loud...I haven't noticed it at all. Don't get me wrong, it's noisy, but my husband and I both find ourselves "dancing" to the music while she's spinning. I've not found it obtrusive at this point. I'm not sure it's fair to rate this educationally...It's not really supposed to be an "educational" toy. I'm sure she's "learning" cause and effect by spinning in the opposite direction her hands are moving...or that she's hearing music every time she hits the buttons...but it's a fun toy. She uses it daily - sometimes with her legs straight out, sometime with them crossed. It's a blast to watch her.

Don't Even Think of the Original Toy!
I bought this for my granddaughter because both my daughter and daughter-in-law loved theirs when they were children. What a huge disappointment. The base is much too small and you have to be muscle-bound to turn it. My granddaughter can only spin by pushing with her foot - so what's the point? The only time she can spin it like it should is if she sits next to it and simply twirls it with her hand so her toys can take a ride. I'm returning this one along with the one I bought for her to keep at my house. My daughter-in-law gave one to her neice and it's also going back. Hasbro should apologize for this and try using real kids to test their products. P.S. Why add music? Sometimes the simple things are best. Just let the kids have fun spinning and they'll make up their own songs!

Yuck.
This is completely worthless. Nothing like I remember the ones we used to use being. My small 3 year old can't even get it to go around. It's like she weighs too much for the thing to spin or something (btw - she weighs about 32 lbs so she's NOT heavy!). It's just a hunk of junk sold to be like the ones we had as kids and it's just not.
