Kitchen Grips Chef's Mitt, Large, Cherry/Black

I bought these mitts years and I used them almost every day. At the time I bought them they did not open up to cover more skin further up the arm. I guess I had the first ones at least 10 years, perhaps much longer. The rubber on the first ones finally started to break down and disintegrate, which meant the heat would break through. I was really sad about it because I loved the product. So I was naturally thrilled to find the mitts on Amazon, and even better, I could make them longer if I needed to cover more of my arm. It may take you a little while to break them in, but they will begin to fit you even better once you have used them for a while. They are large enough for my husband’s hands and he was glad to see that the manufacturer was still making them and that they could now be made longer if needed.

My previous pair of identical Kitchen Grips lasted for 20. I am happy that I could order replacements! These mits are flexible and protect well, slip resistant and clean easily. I just put dish soap on them and rub the mitts together like washing my hands, then rinse well.

The small size truly is small. I wear a size 7 glove and the thumb is very snug. Thankfully not worn for long periods of time so it doesn’t matter too much. Otherwise I love these. They have a great heat resistance and are nice and flat for easy storage in my small kitchen

The small size fits smaller hands well. They will be too small for most men, but are great for women or those with small hands. No more feeling like you are wearing oven mitts made for your dad. They do come in large size also. They are also good for opening jars. Great product.

The website says these mitts are heat resistant up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, but the tag on the mitts clearly says it only goes up to 400°. Additionally, this is the third set of these gloves I have purchased as they don't last more than a year without developing heat sensitive spots due to cracking in the material. However, the past mitts fit my small hands so well and worked wonderfully up to that point, so I ordered them again. That was a mistake. The new gloves are smaller, and they are very inflexible. Handling pans from the oven with these would be dangerous in my opinion. I am sending them back as the quality is definitely inferior to what it used to be.

I bought these to replace a very old pair of similar material and construction, which had become all-time favorites. These are as good as the originals. Easy to use and clean, providing an excellent grip for removing hot articles from ovens and cooktops, I've come to prefer this type of mitt to all others. One reviewer had expressed concerns about safety and being burned. I have never experienced a problem with mine, nor ever been burned while using these. There can be some slight heat transfer directly along the stitched area, but not enough to cause a burn, and one's hand would only ever encounter the stitched area if the mitt were put on somewhat awkwardly. I have happened to do that a couple of times over many years, and had noticed some heat then, but it hadn't caused concern. These are a great mitt--the grip they provide is so secure that I never worry that anything will slip and they offer excellent protection from burns.

Overpriced for a single glove

I had the original older model of Kitchen Grips mitts for years, this new design is not flexible, it's stiffer than my old pair. Actually the old model was quite more flexible, the old model had one side of neoprene and one side of silicone. The inside of this new model is slippery, my hands slide and then I have at least an inch away from the top of the fingers which makes it awkward to handle baking sheets or pizza pans and/or baking dishes out of the oven. If the inside wasn't slippery and my hands stayed in place and the material was less stiff these would be awesome.

Excellente mitaine à four mais ne doit pas être utilisée comme sous-plat. Prendre taille large pour un adulte à moins d’avoir une main lilliputienne! J’ai de petites mains et la taille small est très étroite et je ne peux la retirer qu’en tirant sur le bout. La meilleure mitaine de four qui soit à mon avis. Et très facile à nettoyer avec une éponge humide.

I got these to replace a pair which had worn out after many years use and really liked. They are a bit big but stay on ok if you are careful, and come up your wrists a little too so they are also protected

Product is great value for money. Cuts out the heat from oven and trays and does not pass through the mitt unlike other silicon offerings.
