Asian Best Riceberry Rice, 5 Lb

I was looking for black rice and came across this option. I had never heard of riceberry rice before but for the cost I decided to give it a try. Love the Taste! Love the texture! Love the color! The vibrant purple hue tells me it is good for me and filled with antioxidants. Besides the rice for eating, I use the water as a hair rinse. I'm wasting nothing with this purchase. I found it is said to be packed with high levels of anthocyanins, which is what gives this rice it's deep purple-black color. It is said to contain significantly more antioxidant activity than white, brown, or red rice, including compounds like beta-carotene, gamma-oryzanol, vitamin E, and tannins. In my experience with this rice, it does cook significantly different from the others I've tried, black, brown, white, etc. So, you have to decide what is the best way to cook it to get the texture you are looking for. I boil mine and even though it turns the water very dark, the rice still maintained a lot of its color. This brand was packed well, delivered fresh and this purchase should last me a long time. Great price for a very flavorful rice. The rice is very healthy and maintains its color. The bag of rice was vacuum pack inside a box so well packaged. Very pleased with the rice. Will definitely buy again.

This riceberry rice is delicious with a great nutty flavor - so much better than regular white or brown rice. It does take quite a bit longer to cook but it's well worth the extra time invested. We won't go back to regular rice. Unfortunately, when shipping with other pointy/sharp items in the same box, the vacuum seal can break, especially if Amazon doesn't pack it well but just throws all the items into the box. This has happened twice now.

We recently switched to black rice because i found myself consistently hungry when eating white rice. This brand's rive is great, it's not noticeably more great than other brands, but this is the largest bag of black rice we've consistently found. Black rice cooks just like rice but has a richer, nuttier flavor. Cook it in bouillon/ broth for even better results.

We eat a lot of rice. We've tried a many different types of rice and plenty of different brands. We think this is the best rice for us. We've been eating it for years. We occasionally try other rice to be sure we are not missing something. But we always go back to the Asian Best Riceberry. We think it is best made in a pressure cooker at a ratio of 3 cups rice with 4 cups of water. Nice and soft without being mushy.
