LeapTV Transforming Controller

Just got this hooked up last night. I got it as a gift for my son for his 4th birthday. We have a wii but I wanted something he could play easily. We got the Paw Patrol game in addition to the game that comes automatically in the game system. It's easy to set up with your tv, even I could do it. It's a smaller system which is nice because it doesn't take up to much room. The remotes are great for little hands & I like that they are easy to transform from the stick for pointing to the control for two handed use. I bought the extra remote which was affordable unlike other gaming systems. We're still having some issues with using the feature in which your child is portrayed in the game. As many reviews say, you have to get the right lighting. But it's something I'll play with & I'm sure I'll get it figured out. My son's loving the game despite this. The only reason I don't have 5 starts off the bat is the lighting trick. Pros: easy set up, small unit, great controls made with little hands in mind, affordable games (give plus) & accessories, easy to understand instructions during games, my son is able to understand what he needs to do. I'm happy with this purchase & will be recommending it to others!

We purchased an additional controller for our Leap TV console. There aren't very many games that allow for two players at the same time. We use ours primarily for the Leapfrog Go Cart game. The size of the controller works well for little hands. It also contains a wrist strap to help reduce your risk of having the remote accidentally flung across the room. It is very easy for my 4 and 5 year old to transform the controller on their own. Younger children may need a little extra assistance. So far, the battery life had been very good. This has been a good addition to our LeapFrog collection, and as a mom I'm glad that I don't have to listen to my guys arguing over who gets a remote.

This item saved me! My kids love the leapTV and they needed another controller which can be hard to find sometimes. This item was much cheaper than in the actual store, and came really quick. These controllers are perfect for any age and they are very sturdy. My 2 year old can use them, and my 12 year old enjoys playing the game too. Great product at a great price!

The controller isn’t working and the end broke off. I love leap frog and sure this is good, but the one we received doesn’t work. Do you offer warranty claim?

This is okay, and I really like the learning aspect of it. My 5 year old received this for Christmas and it didn't not keep her attention for long at all. I really wish it moved a little quicker as she got really impatient waiting for the transitions and such. The screen is also very hard to see with the camera and she got frustrated pretty quickly and didn't want to play anymore and this is in a room with lots of light and plenty of natural lighting. I like the concept but this was not a hit at our house.

Was easy to connect this for a second controller on leapTv ! It’s great now we can play multiplayer no problem fast delivery!

Overall, the LeapFrong TV does not live up to expectations. Using it as a normal controller works well enough. Using it as a pointer is horirble for a child who points at the TV but is required to point at the little camera instead, especially when the TV is on the wall and the stand holding the Leap unit is below it. In addition, the camera often can't "see" the controller in pointer mode, leading to opening and closing the controller numerous times in the hopes that it will finally see it. Lastly, using LeapTV without the controller is a complete waste of time. It doesn't work. I've played with all the background lighting and it works sporadilcally at best. So, in 1 of 3 modes it works great, the other 2 are pretty bad. Overall, seems like Leap rushed to market without proving out the product fully.

We bought this to go alongside our LeapFrog LeapTV which we bought for our son for Christmas. Having watched Daddy (on the very rare occasion nowadays!) play on his Xbox and want to get involved we decided to give the LeapTV a go as it was being advertised as a more educational game system for little ones and I have to say we can agree and the game system itself is brilliant, educational and a lot of fun too. The only problem is that like many game systems the LeapTV only comes with one controller and so an additional controller is necessary for two player games. Our additional controller even gets used when our son is playing a one player game as our baby daughter wants to think she is involved and so likes holding the spare controller and thinks she is playing too and this makes for a much quieter house! The spare controller is exactly the same as the one that comes with the main game system and has a wrist strap to attach to your little ones wrist too. The controller has taken some major beating as it often gets inadvertently dropped by our baby daughter when she is pretending to play with it and so I can confirm that it is quite robust. I shall update this review in the future if the controller stops working or develops any issues and in the meantime if you have any questions you think I can help you with regarding it please feel free to leave me a comment and I shall reply as I check my comments regularly.

This product is wonderful for our grand children, it teaches them patience and when it pairs up with controllers works wonderful;however, they do not pairup every time and u have to reset them constantly....pickup the booklets and do EXACTLY what they say to do and they pairup fine but u will need to keep doing this alot. Children need an adult to do this as they wont be able to press both buttons to rescyn the controllers and have patience to pair them up. Overal, a good product, I just kept trying to sync them n diligence paid off.
