Manual spice grinder
I decided to go with a manual coffee grinder after burning out two electric grinders. After using this for a couple months I have decided this is not a good replacement for grinding coffee. This Is best used for grinding spices. it takes too much time to grind a small amount of beans. It only holds enough to make 1 cup of coffee as well. I do like that the grinder mechanical parts are plastic, so no rusting. Make sure the handle is all the way on before grinding.

Hate it. Reviews are totally inaccurate..
I absolutely do not like this thing. First of all, the part that holds the beans is so small. It hold probably 1/3 cup of beans, and that's an overestimate. Second, when you set the dial so that you can grind it a certain size, it loosens whiles you're cranking the handle, causing the beans to get bigger - INCONSISTENT. I might as well use an electric grinder. I can't stand this thing! I am returning it....I think all these reviews are not 100% accurate or honest. I've clicked on almost every profile and they have all given positive reviews for everything they've bought, which isn't even that many. These -have- to be fake reviewers or something....

I think I need to get an electric grinder
I have never bought a coffee grinder before. Most of them looked similar, so I got this because I liked the look of it. It looks nice, but it takes a very long time to grind the coffee. I use an aeropress most of the time. Filling the upper chamber with coffee beans gives me about as much coffee as one scoop for the aeropress, which is nice, but it takes me about 3 or 4 minutes to grind it. Plus, I like my coffee stronger, so I have to do it twice with this because I want two scoops. I find it annoying that you have to take off the handle and then the lid, put in the beans, and reassemble it for one scoop. The upper chamber for the beans should be larger so you don't have to do that over and over. It would be less portable, but easier to use in my opinion. One time, I tried getting enough coffee to fill the bottom and it took like 20 minutes of grinding and that made my arm tired. I just went back to pre-ground coffee and I'll probably get an electric grinder at some point. It does grind the coffee pretty well though. I don't know if there is a way to adjust the grind size, but I couldn't find anything for that. However, the grind size was good for my purposes and it was pretty consistent. It's not terrible, but it's not great. If you don't mind putting the time and effort in, this is fine, but I don't like it that much.

Small hopper, small nut difficult to thread, the nut is the adjuster for coarseness of grind
Overall I am satisfied with this product. I was hoping it would be somewhat larger to grind more at a time than it does. Also, no instructions come with this grinder so it was difficult to figure out how to adjust for coarseness of ground beans. The small nut holding the grinding bar in place is sometimes difficult to line up just right....this makes it a bit difficult to use. But, for the price, it does serve the purpose for which it was intended. It does seem sturdy and would be a good item to travel with. Just don't lose the tiny little top nut, or the whole thing will be useless....

Grinder
Good for the price, not the best one I own, but it does the job good.
