This is an incredible wireless microphone kit. I’m honestly blown away by how well it performs. No show-stopping complaints here—this is as close to plug-and-play perfection as it gets. 🔌 App Not Required – Huge Win First and most importantly: the app is 100% optional. This was crucial for me. Many modern devices force app reliance, which can hurt the user experience if the app is buggy or lacks features. With the Lark MAX 2, everything works flawlessly without needing the app. Big plus! 🎯 Purpose I bought the Lark MAX 2 Combo for use with my Sony A6400 while filming an indie movie. I needed reliability, clean audio, and quick setup. This will also be used for interviews and other creative projects going forward. So far, it’s exceeded my expectations. 🎬 Performance & Compatibility Works seamlessly with both my Sony A6400 and iPhone 16 Pro. Setup was true plug-and-play — no issues connecting. The receiver shoe fits snugly on my A6400. It feels secure and stable. Mic quality is crisp and professional. Far better than I anticipated. Features like mono/stereo modes, AI background noise removal, and low-cut filter offer fantastic flexibility. Internal recording is a game-changer — simple to use and incredibly useful for backup or syncing in post. 💡 Lessons Learned / Things to Know You cannot connect the mics to the camera receiver and USB-C receiver simultaneously. The included travel bag has a strong plastic smell — the typical “toxic” odor from certain manufactured plastics. If you're using a camera cage, be aware the camera shoe mount won't fit properly. The cage interferes with the receiver. The receiver’s cold shoe isn’t adjustable, so while it fits my Sony snugly, it may not fit all camera shoes securely. Navigating the receiver’s menu is essential. Every setting affects your audio significantly—take time to learn it. When accessing internal recordings on a computer, avoid USB hubs. My computer didn’t recognize the files until I connected directly to a USB port. ✅ Final Thoughts This is a premium wireless mic kit with incredible value for content creators, filmmakers, and interviewers. Hollyland really nailed the functionality, compatibility, and audio quality. And best of all—you don’t need an app to get the most out of it. Highly recommended.

This was the best mic setup for my needs, because I have different cameras (GoPro, Insta360, Sony, my mobile) If you have a DJI or Insta360 camera, get their mic ONLY because of ease of use in the ecosystem. But honestly, you can't beat the versatility of the Lark MAX 2

I bought the Hollyland Lark MAX 2 Combo Wireless Lavalier Microphones, and while the microphones themselves are excellent in build and sound quality, the overall user experience falls short due to the app and software. The Lark app on iOS is buggy it doesn’t automatically recognize the RX unit even when connected, requiring manual addition each time. The app features are extremely limited and don’t feel cohesive with the hardware. Noise cancellation above +15dB creates a synthetic, unrealistic voice, which is disappointing for professional use. The charging case oddly displays the timezone, which cannot be changed, and overall, it feels like Hollyland rushed the product to market before fully testing and stabilizing the app. The hardware is solid, but the supporting software experience needs significant improvements to match it.

Bought this because a youtuber said it was the best mic on the market. Muddy, low sound on iPhone, but even worse the mic requires the app (you literally cannot fully control the gain without it) and the app is rated at 1.5 stars on the app store for a reason. It forces you to watch an unskippable popup ad EVERY TIME YOU GO INTO THE APP TO MAKE AN ADJUSTMENT. Bad hardware, software that feels borderline criminal. I will never trust that youtube reviewer again.

Super easy to set up and delivers amazing sound quality

I ordered this microphone set for my partner to use as he is the singer in a band and wanted something that could record his vocals for him to play back and give himself feedback. The sound quality is really excellent and with the AI noise cancelling it comes out so crisp and deep you can really hear all the little intricacies. They're really easy to set up and compact too for fitting into his microphone bag or a flight case etc. They are also light to wear and connect easily to a phone. I cannot think of a single negative point about these and they have really improved his rehearsals.
