After 7 years of not being able to smell anything, last October, 2025, I stumbled across a podcast on YouTube, “How Scents can Improve Memory, Autism, and Depression”, by Dr. Michael Leon, who is currently Professor emeritus in the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior at the University of California Irvine. I decided to give it my best try (what did I have to lose since this is non-invasive?) and began “olfactory enrichment” after purchasing the Moxe inhaler sticks. When they arrived, I couldn’t smell ANYTHING, but after using them as often as possible for 9 days (while reading, watching TV, etc.), I started to be able to smell scents again, even in my environment! I’m 70 years young and I also noticed a positive difference in my memory and felt that the “brain fog” I had been experiencing seemed to lift as well. However, according to the research presented in the podcast, scent neurons degenerate quickly, so it’s important to continue to be subjected to a variety of different pleasant smells each day. After 3 months of using the Moxe inhaler sticks (I bought 2 different packs for variety), I recently purchased the “Memory Air” automatic device which releases 40 pleasant scents while you sleep (very pricey, but excellent quality). Full disclosure, at about the same time I purchased the device, I started using Flonase nasal spray which had been recommended by my primary physician for an inverted ear drum, so I don’t know if this had any effect or not. But I have noticed an even larger increase in my ability to smell and sometimes actually taste food since using both! This is after 7 years of not being able to smell anything, and taste very, very little! So, what have you got to lose by trying these Moxe inhalers? It has made a world of difference for me for my sense of smell and also for my memory! It is wonderful to be able to smell again!!!

The flavor should be known as “nasty.” We really didn’t care for these at all. It sounded like it would have worked very well as aromatherapy. Sounds can be deceiving. They all had a similar smell, which had nothing to do with therapy — except perhaps, creating business for therapists. The setup looks very impressive, with lots of colors and scents arranged very attractively. I will probably keep these on hand for use in separate times. After trying these and another package from a separate manufacturer, I have returned to the old Vick’s Vapo-Stick (or whatever they call it), in plain old Eucalyptus flavor. Perfect!

Excellent inhalers! However, they packaged the Amazon order under 24 cans of soda and I was lucky I found them!

I lost my sense of taste and smell over a year ago, and my doctor recommended trying aromatherapy to regain it. So I am trying Moxe , so far I can smell the inhalers, but no taste yet. Only a few weeks trying.
