Amazing relaxation for kids who have suffered trauma or emotional upset!
This is perfect for my 6-year-old daughter’s room, who was downright giddy over it, and surprisingly, my high school freshman boy, who’s exact words were: “That’s cool” (nonchalantly). I asked him if he wanted one, and he shrugged and mumbled, “It doesn’t matter. Whatever,” which of course in “I’m 14 years old and really cool now” language, means: “YEEEES. Please get me one! I love it, but I can’t say it because I’m too old for it and too cool now!” I’m back today to review since BOTH of our kiddos really love them. They went to their aunt’s home this weekend and when I went to pack my daughter’s in their shared suitcase, I saw my son had packed his to take with him. LolNote: We took in our 6-year-old daughter 11 months ago, from the foster care system. We finalized her adoption last month. She’s been through a lot of messed up things in her short life, including her biological mother leaving her at two years old, but popping back in and out of her life whenever she felt like it, a dad who didn’t even meet her until she was two, and who has been in and out of prison twice in five years. And last year, dad’s wife (her stepmom), whom she has called “mommy” since she was two years old, who raised her for nearly four years now, walked away from dad and daughter, saying, “I know I’m the only mother she’s ever really known, but she’s not my kid. I’m moving on.” I’m sharing all of this, because, #1: I’ve watched this little girl go from a sad, angry, lying, stealing, hitting 5-year-old, who couldn’t count to 10 or even say her ABC’s, to a happy, giggly, SWEET, honest and loving kid. As far as educational progress, she’s now in the gifted and talented program, because once she had stability and believed our promises that we would never let her go, she blossomed. She’s stunningly intelligent and talented, and prefers swimming, drawing and practicing her ballet or karate, to TV or her Kindle (although she loves her Amazon Kindle Freetime when we go out to dinner and she gets bored while we’re talking afterward - lol). We started fostering a few years ago, mainly boys a few years younger than our son, so he would have playmates and just kids to mentor (he loves it). This little girl was our first foster child under the age of 8, and our first girl ever. She was sooo difficult the first few months, but all of us could see something special there. I’m in awe of her. She’s changed our lives, massively. We sought out her biological grandparents on both sides, and she has a close, healthy relationship with all four of them. And even though her biological parents both lost their parental rights, we decided right away that we would do our best to help both her bio mother and bio father try to better their lives, for her sake and for her future happiness in life. She sees them on holidays and exchanges letters with them, about once a month. She knows they “have problems” and that’s why we are her “heart” mommy and daddy, and her big brother. But, she also knows they love her to infinity, and just because they have problems, their love for her will never go away. However... even though she has a fantastic therapist she sees a couple of times a week, a lot of contact with her biological family, and is ridiculously loved by the three of us, she still has AWFUL night terrors (she wakes up screaming, sweating, crying her eyes out - at least three times a week), related to very traumatic events throughout her life (mainly domestic violence between her bio parents and their partners, and police calls that resulted in multiple stints in emergency foster care).THIS STAR NIGHT LIGHT has cut her night terrors by about 75%. I’m blown away by that. I used to read to her, hold her and sing to her for a solid 45 to 90 minutes each night, just to get her calm enough to sleep, and to reduce the chances of a night terror. The first night we turned this on in her room. I had to go call and check on my son (he was on a school trip) before I started our nightly routine). She was in her PJs in bed, playing with her dolls and admiring the night light. Ten minutes later when I returned, she was sound asleep. In the past 30 or so nights of using this night light, she’s only had 4 night terrors! As opposed to 12 or more, and they’ve all been about half as bad. This light isn’t just calming, it’s a darn miracle as far as I’m concerned. It does have three buttons that control it. One turns the rotation on and off. The second turns the white light on and off, and the third rotated through the different colors and color combinations of red, blue and green. Life-changing for our family. So, yes, I highly recommend it, especially for kids who have had any type of trauma or emotional difficulty. TEN STARS.

For the price, it's good.
The media could not be loaded. You get what you pay for. It's nothing special, but it's not junk either. We've had ours about 8 months now and it's still working fine. They being said, if I bought another one, I'd probably choose another one for a bit more money solely because this has no timer option to automatically turn off. If you have this plugged in by an outlet it's no problem but if you want this in the middle of the room for a good projection and run it on batteries, you'll go through a lot of them very quickly if you don't remember to turn it off.You can hear the motor in a silent room, but we don't if the air/heat is running and definitely not with the sound maker on so that's not really a concern for us.If you drop it, the film will pop off but you can also just pop it back on. They're not clear stars with 1080 clarity y'all but it's pretty and satisfies my younger kids.Like I said, you get what you pay for. It's worth the $13 for what it is, but if you want something high quality with bells and whistles, spend twice as much and get a nicer one.

Star night light
It’s ok for the price but by morning the batteries have pretty much worn out, so I e spent way more on batteries than the cost of the lamp

This is very bright
EDIT: This stopped working after only a few weeks of use. We even have this on a timer switch so it only runs for a few hours at a time - and we only run it while my son is sleeping. Really disappointed! My son is obsessed with this thing and is really sad it's not working anymore. He keeps crying for his stars. I asked for a replacement and it says that it will be here May 12th which is great, but I hope that the next one lasts a little longer :(I love this nightlight! I bought it to replace my sons similar night light that broke after 8 months of use (he threw it, no fault of manufacturer)This night light is SO BRIGHT! My son's room is on the smaller side of average and it's like a disco rave going on in there. The light shines out from under his door and it illuminates our hallway. I thought at first I would have to send this back where it is soo bright (the dome only stops the projection, but the light stays very very bright). HOWEVER my son thinks its the best thing in the entire world and has slept like a dream since I got it!He lays in his crib at night talking to his stars, and he picks out what color he wants them set to every night before bed. He absolutely loves it. He's making me turn it on for diaper changes even to see his "pretty stars"SO if you have a star loving little, this may be the light for you! As long as they don't mind sleeping in a room as bright as daylight!

Purchased it for the baby.
My baby loves it. Loves it a little bit too much. He does not sleep when it is on and keeps staring at the ceiling. Its really bright and makes really nice patterns on the small room that is his nursery. If the wall or ceiling is too far (7 feet or so) stars become blurry dots. Still looks good.Do not plan to use batteries for daily use. It eats up batteries quite fast. Would be good for travelling though.Only con is I have to press the button about 7 times to go it to colour blinking mode after I switch it on. That should be the first option IMHO.Also would not be suitable for a kid to play with it. The globe is quite fragile.

Squealing sound & not rotating after 2 weeks
I purchased 2 of these. One is for my son the other is off a baby registry for my niece/nephew. I unboxed my sons and plugged it in. Within 2 weeks, it stopped rotating so the stars/moon don’t move around the room. When it was still working, it would occasionally make a squealing noise - the first time it startled me because it sounded like a person screaming. It took a few times for me to realize it was the mechanism in the product. The larger the room, the blurrier the image shows up on the walls/ceiling.I did like that it pretty well covered the room and wasn’t in just one spot on the ceiling. I also liked all the different color options and combinations.

Nice little lamp
Great nightlight , my only complaint was I used the spinning feature the 1st day and since then it didn't work after that. My daughter has no more problems sleeping in her room anymore. There was no way to contact the company to let them know about the problem that I could see. It's a great lamp I love the different color options.

Basic but good!
Very basic (took a minute to get to know the controls as there is no on/off button, you just hold button B) but works great for what we need. Lights are plenty bright in a dark room. We use this light as part of the bed time routine with our baby and a distraction for diaper changes.

Overall great product
Very nice! I wish there were more colours as my son always asks for yellow and orange but it only has white red blue and green, but overall amazing! It does have a slight noise but with a noise machine it is covered up, my only complaint would be the wire... it is too short to fit anywhere

Loud.. but bright
Drains batteries very quick, we just keep it plugged in. It’s bright and has multiple colour options and strobe light features as well. Pretty loud when it turns though, and because of that, I’m only giving 3 stars. Could be a malfunction of some sort.
