This is perfect for charging my phone in my car. The cable is nice and short so it doesn’t hang down the centre console and get in the way.

I went through a phase of buying lots of AmazonBasics cables because all of the original cables that came with our Android and Apple devices either disappeared or failed. So you could hardly say I'm short of cables. But they are all long cables, ranging between 900mm and 1200mm.Sometimes a short cable is what you need - connecting your phone to a power bank for example. This Amazer cable is 180mm long from the strain relief on the USB A plug to the right-angled strain relief on the Lightning plug.This cable weighs 8 grams as compared to 20 grams for my longer Amazon Basics Lightning cable. This difference in weight is entirely down to the length of the two cables - I think the quality is comparable.The cable is covered in an attractive grey and black weave and it's quite firm - if it were longer it would be resistant to tangling, but this isn't an issue with this small length.There is an Amazer logo on the lightning plug and a USB logo on the USB A plug. On the small cardboard box that the cable comes in there is a Made for iPhone iPad iPod logo and the colour and design is attractive. There is a tiny instruction leaflet that states Amazer's claims for their compliance with Apple's requirements, and they describe the unique serial number that is somehow "in" the cable and an Apple issued authorisation chip that "ensures strong compatibility with Apple devices". I don't know about all of this, it's hard to confirm such claims, but I can confirm that the cable works flawlessly with my iPhone 7 Plus, and that's all that matters to me.I was happy that the cable comes supplied in a small cardboard box, rather than plastic, but once you get inside you find the cable contained in a plastic bag that looks a lot like the biodegradeable bags that the National Trust have moved over to for their mailings. But there's a recycling 07 CPE logo on the bag which - I'm just learning about these things - means it's not biodegradeable. Amazer are missing a trick here and if this bag were biodegradeable I would have given the product five stars. As it is, this is a single use plastic bag that simply shouldn't exist, along with the rather unnecessary plastic cable tie that comes with the cable and serves no purpose on such a short thing.

Bought for my MK7 golf - the compartment where I keep my phone. Charges my phone on the move without the extra cable to fold in. Compartment lid closes down easily.

Smart little cable in the 20cm version and used for travelling with a battery charger. Perfect.Well made but the price at time of review (£11) is steep and certainly marks it down a few notches no matter how long it will last you.

Ok this cable is small about the size of 2 cigarettes however if like me you just want a good strong durable cable then this is definitely a must, personally for me this will be kept in the car or used when traveling and leave me other cable in the house

If you have an iPhone you want to plug in to the USB in your car this is ideal. I can sit the phone next to the USB slot without having to tuck a few feet of spare cable away. Great for using with Apple CarPlay.
