A good product.

This hat stretcher is probably just as good as many others on Amazon. It's value priced and delivery was very good. These all work reasonably well, but only stretch from front to back. Although this loosens the side to side a little, it is still less than the front to back stretch. This is why most professional hat stretching is done on a full block, which would be very expensive for the amateur. But for the price, this is very good, and with a little work you can stretch your hat back to size.

I wear a 6-7/8 long oval campaign hat every day at work, so I know the size I need. I recently ordered a cattleman hat for casual wear but it wasn't available in long oval. I figured I'd give this a shot to shape the hat to the correct size (along with a steamer of course). It worked great, but if your head is closer to the small side of the stretcher's range, you may want to tweak it a bit to make a long oval. I simply I trimmed a bit off the "corners" of the blocks (and added the taper back on). Now when I stretch the hat it makes an accurate long oval. With the unmodified blocks it will still work, but if you're used to a custom hat you'll notice the difference. The radius is just a hair bigger than I was used to, which is likely to accommodate the high end (9-1/2) of the range. This is no fault of the hat jack, you can't expect a custom fit from a ranged item. You CAN use this for the 6-1/2 without modifying it, especially if you have a round head. With just a little modification you can also us it to shape a perfect long oval from a standard hat even at the low end of the range. Overall, it is a great product. I'd buy it again if need another one, and I'd recommend it to a friend. Money well spent, I can make a custom fit hat without buying custom hats. This will save me a fortune.

My head is small and I'm in between size 6 3/4 and 7. I always buy on the smaller side because there's really nothing you can do with a hat that's too big. I bought a Brixton cap in 6 3/4 and it was uncomfortably small - it made a mark on my forehead after 5 mins of wear and I thought maybe I'd stretch it by simply wearing it a lot. That didn't happen - I always opted for caps that fit better and would be less of a strain. Felt bad because I spent $60 on the hat, though, and of course, could no longer return. I bought this hat stretcher, put it on the Brixton cap and left it for 2 days. Like night and day. Just that much more room and the hat fits snug but no longer makes a mark on my forehead. It's great because it's a well made hat that looks lovely, and now it's my favorite to wear. I thought it was kind of ridiculous to spend $15 on a piece of wood with some screws in it, but I went for it - and now this is the only reason why I can wear this hat, rather than waste it. Recommend!

Works great! Good quality solid wood and adjustable mechanics provides a good tension. My hat was a little tight after 10 mins however with the stretcher in place the hat was comfortable again. I know store the hat with the stretcher in place. Wood definitely recommend and buy again.

I ordered a 2XL hat but was sent an XL hat by mistake. Seller had no more 2XL in stock, so they refunded my purchase and let me keep the hat. I used my refund to purchase this hat stretcher which worked really well, now my new hat fits. Only criticism is that when the hat was stretched longer, the sides move in, so the hat was long enough, but too narrow. Took some fussing to get the hat both long and wide enough.
