You can access the online manual using the link below, and on page 2 (the Kit Contents page) there is a white square in the lower-right that lists all of the items you will need that aren't included in the kit, either because they are found in most households already (like water, scissors, tape, spoons, etc.) or due to a limited shelf life (like milk, cabbage, powdered sugar, etc.). Can you get refills for the experiments?

Not to my knowledge. But I haven't checked places like Hobby Lobby. Kid didn't stay interested enough to need a refill.

How do I buy replacement parts and ingredients? Surely they don't expect everyone to toss this in a landfill after completing the few experiments.

You can always get a book on science experiments using household items.
