Outback Trading HAT Men's

I'll start out with my gripe. Upon opening the package, I found the hat shoved into a box that was too narrow for the hat rim to properly lay flat, which caused the rim on one side to be bent sharply up, while the rim on the other side was bent sharply down. It took some effort to reshape to normal, but I did manage to reshape it back to the proper shape thanks to the wire rim. This likely wouldn't have panned out nicely if it didn't have a wire rim. Additionally, despite the box having plenty of room for the crown height, the crown was dented, crushed and distorted, requiring quite a bit more effort to return the crown to normal shape, although you can still tell where it was dented, smashed, and crushed. I know some people prefer a hat that looks broken in and worn, but I'm not one of those people and I'm not impressed with the packaging. When I purchase a new hat, I prefer to receive it in a respectable new hat condition. The hat also had an accumulation of dust on it in certain section. Come on people, if you're going to sell quality hats, have some pride in the products. As for the color, field tan, it's definitely not a tan color but is more of a light brown. I was really hoping for a lighter color as projected by the product photo, however, I'm not bothered by this issue too much. It's definitely not a tan color though, and Outback Trading Co. should really change the color name to light brown. I haven't had a chance to test its weatherproof status as of yet, but it does look somewhat waterproofed, although barely. I will certainly be applying additional waterproofing after testing it out and as soon as I mix up a new batch of waterproofing. With that in mind, I also suspect and hope the crown and rim shape will return more to it's new condition/shape while applying additional waterproofing with a heatgun. This is my first hat from Outback Trading Co., so after some time and experience with it being exposed to weather I'll update you on my review. Overall at the moment, I'm satisfied with my Outback Trading Co. Kodiak hat in field tan (light brown). Four month review update: I absolutely love the had. Well made and there is a miraculous fact they don't tell you about this hat. Ever since I've gotten it, I've been eager to try it out in the rain. However, ever since I got it, the rain only happens when I'm not going anywhere, lol. I have yet to use the hat in the rain. I don't know how they did it, but this hat miraculously stops rain showers before you go out, lol.

Sin duda un buen sombrero que se puede ajustar en diferentes formas dependiendo de tu gusto, excelente para sol o lluvia, es de algodón pero trae una substancia un tanto aceitosa para hacerlo impermeable, relación costo-beneficio buena. Me quedo ligeramente grande, pero nada que no se pueda arreglar con un ajustador de sombrero.

El sombrero llegó antes de la fecha estimada. Bien empacando en una caja, tomaron las medidas para que llegara bien! El sombrero en sí está muy bonito! Superó mis espectativas!

Very very stiff hat. The crown height is not what's in the picture and I can't pull the hat as far down as I'd like to. Must secure it tightly with chin cord on windy days though it's neither the look nor the comfort level I was going for.
